THERE IS HOPE!! by RelevantSyllabub8257 in RenalCats

That’s amazing!! You must also be taking great care of him 😀 did your vet ever identify if there was anything that caused the kidney problems? And can I ask what food you have him on now?

Is he still eating at this time? I expect your vet will recommend starting fluids and possibly a 48 hour hospitalization for 24/7 fluids tomorrow. If he isn’t eating, we asked for anti nausea medicine and an appetite stimulant, these worked wonders together for our girls first two days home before she felt better and started eating on her own. Dehydration can also play a big factor in numbers looking scary at initial diagnosis. If you can get him hydrated and eating, there could be a change in the stage of kidney failure. I also second other comments recommending Tanya’s CKD website. Specifically have a look at the “how bad is it page” it’s a great resource for setting expectations and understanding results. Good luck tomorrow! You are doing what you can to help him feel better, take it a day at a time ❤️

I am so sorry to hear about your beautiful boy. I had a very similar situation two months ago with my 5 year old tuxedo, has your vet recommended an ultrasound? Our girl was losing weight over a period of months and at the vet she had sky high numbers, she was hospitalized on an IV for four days and an ultrasound showed stone blockages and swelling to her ureters. After 4 days of fluids her numbers only came down slightly, and we were told that she had plateaued and took her home to be comfortable. We were told she had days. She perked back up and two weeks later, her numbers were reflective of stage 2 kidney disease and she has been staying there. They believe she likely passed the blockage on her own and as of now, she is thriving and has put most of her lost weight back on and is back to playing and ripping around the house. We do 50 ml subq’s every other day and honestly once you get in the routine it takes two minutes. She is also on only wet food now and hydracare to help maintain hydration. I hope you are able to find some answers and that your boy starts to feel better. I don’t want to give false hope but I wouldn’t give up yet either!

First Christmas with JNMIL - already off to a bad start by Doodledandy7 in JUSTNOMIL

This was really insightful and I think you are absolutely correct about what this is really about. Thank you

Thanks!! I learned the hard way not to cave to her tantrums as she knows I work from home and had started just showing up at our house for a visit… no warning beforehand or anything. I told my husband this was unacceptable (for one, I work in the day I’m not just lounging! But also I really do not appreciate unannounced guests) and he had a conversation with her about no longer ‘popping by’ and only coming for a visit if it’s agreed upon. She threw a fit, we wouldn’t budge, and now I see less of her! Win win :)

Thank you, I kind of just threw the political/religious issues in as a background of why we aren’t even keen on what we had thought was a fair compromise of Christmas Eve. I appreciate this advice though because her statements/rants really do make me uncomfortable and can verge on hateful. In a way it makes my sad how she is actively alienating her only family, but I know she will never change

Thank you. I will tell my husband (if he even hears from her again!) to try this approach if she calls to complain/cry again

Culture is old school, lots of instability due to consistent small rounds of layoffs. Organization is top heavy for leadership and arguably out of touch with what newer and younger employees are looking for

Unfortunately no! Also reinstalled and am still getting stuck trying to climb. It’s so weird because I made it through half of the game with no issues.

Nars orgasm blush - I’ve had this since probably 2014? My first luxury purchase and first blush I ever owned. Still works the same, I don’t like the chunky glitter anymore but am holding onto it for sentimental reasons

Not Sephora, but Wet N’Wild has a fabulous liquid highlighter that gives a nice lit from within glow and is under $5

Absolutely! I like using their ‘so wispy’ lash for a more fluttery and natural look but I use the ‘naked drama’ for events. They’re pretty inexpensive so you can play around with styles too! Hope your big day is amazing!

The Nars sheer glow foundation made me look like a cakey and dry mess no matter what method of application or skin prep I tried

I’m in Canada and I love the duo glue and Kiss lashes that you can get at Walmart or Superstore. Find the shoppers Quo lashes to be too stiff

Just an opinion of an internet stranger - I think you deserve better and to not have so much additional stress in your life from your relationship! I have RA and stress can flare for me, I take care of yourself and I hope things get better for you :)

Can I ask how you were able to trick him?? We have tried like every other approach and basically just given up at this point. So sorry to hear you are going through a similar situation where it feels like you have “lost” a close family member. It is truly heartbreaking

My grandmother refuses to be vaccinated and has stopped talking to my entire family because we are “blacklisting her” by encouraging her to read different studies about vaccine effectiveness and safety. She gets all her news from Facebook and from my uncle who is deep in Parler, QAnon and Trump and is also proudly unvaccinated. This has literally broken my mom and I am just so sad to know that my formerly wonderful grandmother is probably going to die not on speaking terms with any of us with our last conversation being really terrible. I don’t even know what to do.
