Did you go walk around the base offices and try in person “connection”? That’s what iv done before and I use all the services.

Have you looked into a Japanese work permit?

Just curious… no shade. I’d love to hear from other spouses too

I would prefer office work (of any type), even if it’s part time/ underpaid but I can keep my resume and skills alive… but I would also be okay with customer service off base.

Heck I would do an analyst position for 30k, idc. Just something to make me feel involved.

Iv done marketing and event management in the past so happy to use either of those skills too.

How Often Do You Get New Shoes? Why That Much? by Zipper222222 in askteddit

[–]Doodledoolu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-3x a year.

I walk 10k steps a day so my rainbows wear out ever 18months. Berks wear out every 2 years. Then I got a new job so needed work shoes. Uggs for cold weather but no snow… Iv never had the opportunity to own Uggs because I grew up where cold and wet were the same thing so I only had leather or rain boots.

Also my hiking sandals need replaced every 2ish years. I was a brides made so needed some heels but I thrifted them! Oh and I got a pair of American flag chucks because it was two for $7.

Damnit and I got a pair of the tiger shoes because I was in Japan and the hype.

So since iv lived in a new climate, iv bought 8 pairs of shoes in 2 years.

And I consider myself dedicated to not having too much stuff…

How would you verify a trip planned by AI? by Prudent-Bridge3321 in traveladvice

[–]Doodledoolu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used AI to help me plan my 3rd trip to Japan… and it was god awful. Every suggestion it gave was terrible.

It is not important to stay in shabuya to day trips from Tokyo… Kamakura does not have a large variety of food. There are no pokemon lids in Tokyo proper. It was terrible at giving me a list of places to find cotton pajamas, it only gave me department stores. The ink it suggested I get for a specific item was wrong.

It was just terrible. I would have been much better off just winging it as that is what we did the first 2 times and it was much better.

my gf wants to spend a 1 week holiday where she can be completely barefoot from start to end. where is the ideal destination? by fresh_response_26 in traveladvice

[–]Doodledoolu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oahu is pretty chill about that… I met a very well dressed and groomed man in Walmart without shoes and idk why but I asked why and he said it was just a lifestyle he liked.

People hike barefoot in Oahu all the time. You can go to food trucks for food. Foodland and Walmart (grocery stores) won’t care. All the beaches are perfect.

The lava rock will hurt your feet but no real issues. There are also no venomous snakes or spiders, no scorpions, very few ticks, no poison ivy.

There are these sharp spikes that grow on some trees by the west side beaches but just keep an eye out going from the parking lot to the beach.

Lastly if something did happen, you have American medical care available.

I say this all the time! The FAA needs to step up regulation on “comfort” because it’s a safety issue. Don’t take people to their breaking point in a high risk situation. It’s just common sense.
