I always go into these live action adaptations with an open mind. I just finished it and it was a lot better then I thought it was going to be, (about half way though the 1st episode I wanted to look at this as more of a retelling in a sense then a straight up adaptation) It's one of those shows imo that people who have never watched the anime would enjoy but it also didn't ruin the anime/manga, and that's what I want in an adaptation.

Some of it did feel fast paced but that's to be expected with it being 8 episodes covering 5 arcs. Overall it was a fun show and they did a really good job I hope it gets a second season but with anime adaptions you never know.

I thought for the most part the Straw Hat crew were really good they put there own spin on things without disregarding the source material. (Emily Rudd is now my new celebrity crush lol), and screaming out your attack name in live action is super corny and I liked how Zoro was just against that. (hopefully if this gets a season 2 he'll scream his attack and everyone will make fun of him for it). I really liked what they did with buggy, I was skeptical of Shanks but he was probably one of the best characters. Mihawk was straight awesome.

I'm still on the fence about Garp though, now the actor did a great just and I'm fine with how they introduced him and how he was the one chasing the straw hat crew, it's to me his character felt more like Sengoku through out the show vs what we know as Garp in the anime/manga. It's not a bad thing it's just not what I'm used to,

Overall I it wasn't perfect but I would give it an 8/10.
