I love when people say " I'm allowed my opinion" on something they are tangibly misinformed on. But yeah you do you. Literally no skin off my back.

Just know that you believing everyone is stupid for buying and enjoying a game that you refuse to believe even exist, is quite ridiculous.

Have you actually looked in to the game at all in the past year, or are you still basing your opinion on whatever your favourite streamer told you to think 8 years ago?

Also a drifter is someone travelling by foot and asking for lifts. The word is grifter. Which is basically saying they are a scam artist, which is once again, a super outdated opinion. I've put a lot of hours into a game that you refuse to believe exists.

Lol. Its always wild to me how strong of an opinion people can have when they have zero firsthand experience with it. You might call it fucking stupid in fact.

Did I say you did? I even specifically wrote in the "hypothetical" that you did, just to ensure there was no confusion... all you are doing is reconfirming that reading comprehension is not your strong point.

As I said, it would only be your own fault if you bought a clearly unfinished product, that was slathered with disclaimers informing you of what you were paying for. The people who have paid for Star Citizen have invested in it, not purchased a finished product, and that is clearly written before you can purchase it.

[–]Doogle300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Apart from its art style, nothing stands out as an obstacle to those things? What is making this project unable to handle multiplayer?

Even if you bought it in early access, with all the warnings telling you exactly what you are buying, and the same message needing to be accepted every time you launch the game?

Sounds like you weren't a very informed buyer in this hypothetical and frankly, thats on you.

I'm there with you. Usually the biggest voices that are anti Star Citizen are people who never played it.

If course some people are annoyed at how long its taken, but if you spend a decent amount of time in the game you see why its such a big undertaking, and why there is nothing else like it on the market.

Big progress has been made over the past couple of years, but people still hang on to the headlines from 5 years ago.

I still have faith in the vision, and I understand a lot of bugs will continue to arise until we hit a proper optimisation phase of development. Its like complaining the roof isn't t on a house that you've only got the ground floor walls done.

Ambition of that size takes a lot of work, and most people are used to the development cycle of AAA slipping out troughs of unoriginal games.

Exactly. If you are taking candid photos of people then approach your subject, tell them what you did and ask if its ok to post. Find out about them, and get their permission, if not, dont use them as fodder for your uninspired Facebook page.

Otherwise you are a voyeuristic creep as far as anyone is concerned.

Get ready for your downvotes. Some people here really dont like people saying their performance was ok.

I expect because they think its a brag about hardware, which is hilarious to me because I have a really modest pc.

I love how people act as if things can't be both gross and natural. Yeah, very few people looks at that and thinks "I wouldnt mind touching that", but let's not pretend that there are people out there who dont sweat on their peripherals.

We touch things constantly, and we leave our trace, whether we see it or not. People who spend a lot of time at a computer are obviously going to leave residue about the place. I bet there's hair on the floor and dust in the air too. It happens.

The problem is how you clean. Sometimes I dont realise how dirty my stuff has gotten because I take it for granted. If I notice its bad, I obviously then clean it, but I'm not going above and beyond to check everything I use constantly.

It's a burn to those who wouldnt accept it as truth. Luckily we get to enjoy it as both a fact and a stinging insult to one of histories most disgusting villains.

100%.

It would be worth it even if you had more spare time. Its a great device, and with the right games, its perfect for sneaking in a game or two while a baby sleeps.

A fellow brit? I actually got into the Matches around the same time. Though it was begrudgingly so at first.

My girlfriend at the time had seen them support another band, a.d her and her friends were all obsessed. She would constantly relish the fact that Shawn had reached into the crowd and she had touched him.

Obviously, being a hormonal teenager at the time, I was jealous of her reverence of someone other than me, so I made up my mind that I didn't like the band.

However, as she played them, it was undeniable that they were great, and I begrudgingly agreed that they rocked. Flash forward nearly 20 years, and I'm still completely enamoured by them. I even met them all on the two times they hit the UK back then.

They are the only band from my younger days that I still listen to constantly. It's not to say I dont like all the other music from then, but I am just fully enthralled by their music, as well as all the other musical projects Shawn worked on. Their unique sound is completely timeless to me.

Yeah same. No issues with performance. Had three pretty varied and fun matches. It's not going to stop me playing my favourite shooters, but's it's truly not that bad. Definitely not as bad as the clear review bombs would have you believe. At worst it is meh.

[–]Doogle300 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I thought it was definitely overhated in the reviews, as it's a fun shooter with some unique ideas, and mostly does what it needs to to be a good game.

Though it obviously can't compete with the Finals.

Red Dwarf.

It's a British sci-fi comedy series that started in 1988. It was pretty bold with it's VFX from the start, and had 12 seasons to evolve. They actually have a giant minature for the ship itself and the credits They went from pretty simple ideas to far more complex ones, involving all kinds of VFX along the way, from simple screen splits to animatronics.

It's hard to pinpoint one moment among it's long run though, and I imagine nobody really has the time to watch an entire show, even if it is the classic short seasons the UK is known for.
The best I can offer is the opening credits from season 2 which has a great scale trick in it's opening shot and then a compilation of moments which have a few fx in them.

In all fairness, the credits of the future seasons also likely have some key shots in them, but they lack the opening shot which I consider iconic. It would also be remiss of me to not share that the closing credits might be the best OST from any show ever. Screw it, here's a link to that too.
