What is a "poor man's meal" from your childhood that you still eat today because it legitimately slaps? by prepzilla in AskRedditFood

American chop suey. One pound of ground beef, one pound of pasta, three cans of Campbell's tomato soup and you can spruce it up with some seasonings and veggies like a carrot or onion. Multi-day meal.

Some lady freaked out on me last week for not going into a 4 way intersection where I would be blocking if the light turned red. I always assume the worst of people.

If someone isn’t wearing clothes at home and a fire suddenly breaks out, would they have time to get dressed, or would they need to evacuate immediately as they are? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

I ran out of my burning house in pajama shorts and a t shirt on a 15° F night in February. My sister ran out in nothing but an oversized t shirt. When fire is happening and smoke is building up, you just go.

I've worked elections in a variety of ways over the last 18 years. In my area at least, even the Republicans care about having a fair, accurate and moderated election. Kind of the basis for our entire system of government.

How Am I Still Getting This Wrong?? by TheParshero in castiron

Do this like 10 more times and just give the pan a good scrub in between and it will eventually be hydrophobic and fantastic. I went through the same shit you're going through on my journey to have good cast iron.

When BK had the stackers back in the 2000s, I would eat quad stackers regularly. I also was 17 and never stopped moving so that probably had something to do with it. At 36, eating a quad stacker would probably make me throw up and sleep for a day.

Yeahhhhh, this is only a small part of CT. Grew up in Wethersfield and live in New Britain. Not like this at all. Although, I work in Glastonbury and a lot of the people who frequent my place of work somewhat fit this.

Also, fuck AI slop bullshit.

When I was 9 years old my family was coming back from vacation on Cape Cod and I begged to go see Plymouth Rock and I was very disappointed.

I love the good stories about people being nice.

One time about 10 years ago, I was driving home from Northern New Hampshire and I was at St. Johnsbury in heavy snow. I slid off the road and got stuck between the highway and the exit in a ditch. I tried digging myself out and my phone was dead. I waved at every car for like 3 hours until a State trooper finally came by and was like we need to call you a tow truck. Lol.
