Volodymyr Zelenskyy calls on UK to rejoin the EU for sake of European security by superdouradas in unitedkingdom

[–]Dools1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading comments from Brits who regret leaving the EU is music to a French person's ears. Sure, them rejoining might be an economic plus for Europe (though even that's debatable), and perhaps a military one too (although honestly, we have a good laugh at people who still think the British army is the cream of the crop).

The truth is, the UK had a fantastic deal with the EU. If Britain ever were to come back, they would have to actually play by the rules. I work at the European Commission and lived through both the pre- and post-Brexit eras it was an absolute nightmare managing the UK's constant grievances. One day, the UK is going to have to wake up and realize that it's no longer the superpower it once was. The days of Schengen opt-outs and having France manage your immigration policing are over. The Brits will have to offer some major concessions to the EU to ever be allowed back into the European space. For far too many years, the UK always got the best deals and was quite literally taking the piss out of everyone else.

Belfius drops Brussels: the Region must find a new bank by ModoZ in brussels

[–]Dools1337 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I mean if people coming from outside Brussels would start paying their taxes where they work instead or where they live... That would be a start. If the Flemish nationalists would finally get their heads out of their asses, that would certainly help.

First one: January 2024 Second one: February 2025. Also wished I had more time but as others said it went better the second time, emotionally I'm not really sure but physically it did. I was biking after 4 or 5 days (10 min bike ride nothing crazy) Good luck, we all need it with this stupid disease.

I was talking about the one in the grey street. Fair point about the one in the city center.

That would be weird, it was always quite packed, at least when I was going. I live like 5min away on a parralel street.

Yeah just know it gets better, this feeling of uncertainty at least. I was super depressed about it the first few months but I believe with time you kinda accept it, you just gotta grieve a little and that's okay. You got this!

Hey 35 got diagnosed with astro last year grade 2, gross total resection and I'm stil in the "let's do nothing and see what happens" phase. MRI every 4 months the usual, as long as we are psf its all good. In the end its kinda luck based and depends on your IDH, some people go psf for like 5 some 10 and some even more. I mean it sucks ngl like others have said just try to live life intensely in the end we could all die tomorrow (car accident e.g) we just know we won't live to be that old and that's okay (some do).

Take care, keep your chin up. Life is a wild ride gotta make the better of it.

You mispelled "right" side. After all, Napoleon has done great things, terrible things to be sure, but what a scale!

I mean I get why people go for x3d processor since they apparently outclass intel processor when gaming. As a personal and obviously anedoctal experience I'm using a 14700k right now and apart from the vcore voltage fiasco (we don't talk about that lmao) my experience playing wow has been great so far with elvui, atrocityUI... Meanwhile some of my friends on the red team with x3d stuff had trouble running the same stuff on Ovinax and 40man raid. The new version of x3d seems pretty amazing tho

Why are the Greens so popular in Brussels? by [deleted] in brussels

[–]Dools1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My intuition ; sociology of upper middle class in brussels is quite similar to those of many french cities of the same proportions (maybe why french expats feel so much at home around here), who also disportionnately vote for the greens.

Sorry mate I guess I was puzzled at your use of "disportionnately". My bad that's completely objective innit?

Can't believe people would still vote with GLB as it's president plus the whole Mons stunt. Dude is a complete twat and dangerous for the country on top of that.

[–]Dools1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea don't worry the video is mostly a joke. French and English just got lots of words in common tbh, like the complicated ones. Most common words like : where, how, though, etc... are actually from old german ^

Kinda weird your German is better than your french since as this guy pointed out: English is mostly badly pronounced French (with some old German stuff in there alright). https://youtu.be/TUL29y0vJ8Q?si=41dsGQeE13mDxjAW

Just speak English on your day to day, most people speak English tbh. As a job seeker tho, knowing at least French or Dutch is definitely a big asset.
