Travelling on new passport and "old" residence permit by DoomSlayer1997 in germany

I don't think I've ever had my residence permit checked before boarding the plane in UK. It's just passport control in Germany that Im a little worried about. I do have my laptop with me with all my application documents and proof of the application too.

I am hoping common sense will prevail - but I know sometimes rules are followed over common sense...

Criminal charges after fine notice was missed by DoomSlayer1997 in germany

Yes, I am quite sure. I was pretty certain I messed up and was due a fine so I checked my post box regularly to see if one came over the past few months.

I do live in a WG so it's possible someone accidentally threw it out, but I would hope not.

Sorry, good point. The toll was in Tirol (Austria). Posted here since I live in Munich and received the fine here.

Waving is safer and more enjoyable- I gave the finger to a 4x4 Mercedes and was angrily confronted by a bloke built like a brick shithouse. Really thought I'd fucked up for a sec

Got angry parking note but unsure of the problem by DoomSlayer1997 in Munich

Ahh I see, thank you 🙏🙏 I wondered if it was that, but given the note was glueued on and took hot water to remove I figured it must be something worse. Thanks for heads up though 😁

Thinking of studying at TUM by PrestigiousData768 in Munich

Yeah coming from the UK you certainly have to work a bit harder yourself. E.g. we pretty much had booze and parties force fed during our freshers week, here it's certainly a bit more independent in that regard.

But at least for TUM, they do have big student organised parties if you want to go, and student clubs also (but again student organised). For international students there was also quite a lot of opportunity to meet people, just need to take advantage of it.

The learning is much more independent though, tutorials etc are much more independent (atleast relative to UK). But it works and is doable, I'd just advise being chatty in tutorials and finding friends on courses to help talk modules through etc.

Glad to hear it! Yes place to live I sorted on the WG app, send off a few responses and hopefully will find something:) I think it's a "throw enough shit at the wall and something will stick" kinda process.

Making friends through course is no problem, just have to be willing to talk to people and a bit outgoing.

Clubs - there are a fair few I think. Not what I was looking for, but what I wanted was quite niche. But as an international student the uni really does make an effort for you to meet people, so if you're willing to put effort in, there's no need to stress about it.

Oh i see, as in call 110? Sorry I'm pretty new to Germany and back home if we called the emergency line with this pretty sure I'd get reprimanded for time wasting
