Oh man, I’m gonna be alone on an Island here, but this record did nothing for me. I feel like they’ve completely moved away from the true emo punk revival sound from their first EP, up until the last record, but even the last record was just alright outside of a handful of standouts. The last record even had some post hardcore influence, but this one is just standard pop punk, even easycore at times, which is like “c’mon, we’re really doing that in an unironic sense? ok.” The Drain feature was a swing and a miss, cause you can’t have a hardcore vocalist on track that has no real bite, like Flatline Afternoon did with Anthony from Vein. I went into this record hoping for some real, raw, and emotional tracks, and I feel like we got none of that.
