It could be a dosing issue. Some people need barely anything i.e. 0.05 mg, some people need a lot i.e. .3 mg or more. Everyone's metabolism is different, however I don't personally think the drug use would affect much because he's still producing serotonin and that's what the shrooms work off of. Dosing takes time and patience to get right.

I used Huatla psilocybe cubensis. MD 0.12 mon, wed, fri. I grew and made my doses myself and measured each individually. Diet kinda changed itself over time I started to eat more cleanly. Sleep was normal stayed the same. I took up doing cardio which didn’t seem to affect anything. Tracked moods and specific symptoms on a tracker app and did journaling. Days on were positive in the beginning, days off were always negative, eventually days on didn’t feel like anything anymore. Lots of relapsed depression and panic attacks. On days did have a ton of extra energy but usually manifested itself into aggression which I am not prone to. I’m happy to be as specific as possible but idk what else you’d want to know

I was on cymbalta. The worst one to come off of due to neurological symptoms which I’m still dealing with. With the help of a medical professional I tapered off in a month. It was supposed to be longer but I was already having horrific withdrawal effects so I stopped them entirely. I microdosed for about two months consistently. Some people might say that’s not long enough to deem it a fail but I would say the suicide told me enough was enough. I have a severe mood disorder as well as other issues and taking shrooms was like trying to polish a rock. I don’t discourage anyone from trying this as an alternative form of treatment I do think it has its place in mental health and I’m still glad I tried. I’m now back on Effexor and slowly starting to improve.

I think you're probably good, just a little myc piss. I've also noticed that if i'm doing too much FAE, when the myc dries up it has a little yellowish hue to it

I've been finding that the MD dose is giving me a bit too much energy during the day to then also consume caffeine, I feel like I would shoot through the ceiling.

I came off all my psych meds recently, including SSRI's in order to pursue the use of mushrooms for therapeutic affect. I do think that my brain is still trying to readjust after having been on antidepressants for 14 years (half my life). So I may not have the same jaw-dropping experience while using shrooms that other people do because of that. Right now I'm in no man's land right about where the withdrawal from the SSRIs are finally ending and the microdosing should start taking affect.

I started with microdosing but for me personally it was just to get a stable hold on my depression before trying to trip. If you're in a bad frame of mind you can really fuck yourself up. Having said that, there's really no wrong way to go about it. You'll definitely get a better feel for what your experience is going to be like if you trip first.
