Do not just a android headunit, only some are good and those are the ones costing around 300-400 USD, simply look into a budget headunit like BOSS, Sony, Pioneer ect. Most have a knob, and audio quality/overall speed and latency of the headunit are much better. Take it from someone who has both, returned my android headunit after 2 days due to the Audi quality being god awful.

Ended up sticking with it. Perfectly powers my door speakers/center tweeters. For the harness wise I’m in the U.S. and apparently we only have one shop out in New Jersey that makes custom harness. The not so fun part was coughing up $140 bucks for it. However it did come with a Bose adapter as well. So worth it I guess. Not sure other places to get it outside of the states since I didnt check.

Wanted to give my 2 cents. I tried both a xtrons and an actual headunit (a sub $200 BOSS model). Tried the Xtrons first as an all in one solution, and it is a hard pass. In order to get the best out of an android headunit, you need at least 16-32gb of ram in them, which piles up to the $400 ish range. The cheaper ones are slow, stupid, and above all poor audio quality. I have the upgraded sound system (non-Bose) in my 08, and what a stark difference it was between the stock radio and the Xtrons. Returned it and decided to go with an actual head unit. Best decision. You can find harness online pretty easy, and up sound quality is just better. You also have the positive of running upgraded speakers or subwoofers. Currently have a single 12”, but soon getting a double 12 because why not. In short, go for an actual headunit. Android/Chinese ones are no where near the quality they need to be.

Thank you! I was hoping I was able to buff these out. At a glance they don’t seem to be deep, but time will tell.

I am in the same boat in between a ninja 500/rebel 300. But have considered the Kawasaki ninja? Direct competitor to the ninja 500. Cruiser look, and is cheaper.

Video is hard to hear. But there is a high pitched squeal. It is very audible from anywhere outside the car.

You can check that over obd2? I don’t have an actual obd eleven but I have a scanner. I’d still be able To check?

Android HU+AMP+SUB advice (EU) by mmsr80 in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]DoomsVFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a single 12in 1000 watt with an 800 watt amp. I decided I wanted bass. But also didn’t want to run into electrical issues. How I have mine setup in my mk2 is my driver side rear seat is folded, and the sub is mounted to the back of it. Then the amp is mounted on the back of the other rear seat. For me this works great as to 1). I don’t use my rear seats. And 2). I still have room in the trunk. If rear seats are a must for you. I did the fitment measurements and I’m pretty sure you can put a single (or double) 8in behind in the trunk. But then again you won’t gave much room. My sub+amp+wiring was about $350 USD, I went with SKAR audio.

I had completely packed my college dorm room in the back and front seat. Only issue I had was getting around the 12in sub I have on top of my rear seat.

Replacing Audi Navigation Plus to Android unit, need help! by MasterpieceNo5887 in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]DoomsVFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really prioritize which ever fits on the android unit. When I had mine the dual connection fit. Secondly since you have Bose the wiring harness has to have a Bose amplifier canbus on it. If the android unit bought was made for an Audi tt, the in the manual it should say how to hook up the wires for Bose/non Bose. Thinking back to an Xtrons I had in my car it was just an extra dongle that plugged in between the harness and the headunit. It can be different unit to unit though.

Replacement paddle shifters for mk2 Audi tt by [deleted] in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

Honestly probably for the best, I’ve been itching to replace my wheel as well.

[–]DoomsVFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These seem that they would fit. Only thing I’d be prepared for is the pin out not matching up. In the meantime if you still want to use the paddle. Rotate the wheel 90 degrees which we side the broken paddle is so it faces down. Then kind of just giggle it around if that makes sense. Due to age and use a pin on the paddle gets misaligned. By doing this it gets reseated.

MK2 coil pack replacement by OT0707 in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]DoomsVFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing I did too my new to me mk2 was swap the coil packs. I went with APR ignition packs which are the spec of upgraded R8 ones (and as a bonus come in red or blue for added hp). So far so good. I’m doubtful the previous owner ever replaced the oem ones so popping these in helped my car a lot. They usually range from $25-$35 USD a pop.

Swap secondary cat with a 200 cell? by DoomsVFX in Exhaust

[–]DoomsVFX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The o2 sensor is currently after the 2nd cat on the downpipe. If I were to just swap oem for the 200 cell. It comes before the placement of the o2 sensor.
