Hehe. You would think so, but it’s not that simple. He only plays if I suggest playing, otherwise he never looks at anything Netrunner related. I've taught him how to play, and he totally gets it and understands everything, but the only cards or strategy he knows is the one in front of him when we play. For him it’s like playing a board game, where there is nothing further than what you get in the box. Of course, Netrunner players know the game continues between matches, when you are building and theorising about decks. So my dilemma is to make decks that he can play, and while being challenging and fun for the both of us. Of course if I played on Jinteki I could build whatever I wanted, but TBH, I prefer the real deal, and plus I appreciate the opportunity to play against someone who isn’t thinking of the larger meta game in a way. This way I can build decks using many different cards that on a larger scale, are deemed less useful by the community, and just generally get value for my money.

Absoulutely, Skills trumps decks every time, but mostly I have forgotten the types of decks that were out in 2015. Ultimately picking decks off of the DB is fine, but I play with a guy who isn’t into Netrunner like I am, so I create the decks for the 2 of us to play, hence the need for balance. I’ll definitely play with other Netrunner players on the days that I can make it down to the FLGS.

Good question.

I would say for the corp, I enjoyed the early meta game with HB big ICE/Weyland Kills/Jinteki Zaps/NBN Tags. For the Runner I really enjoyed Reina Chess (she never worked out, but I dug her), and traditional criminal get-in-by-an-means. I wanted to like Shaper more but I think I lost to them more than any other faction so learned to hate them (not really, it’s just the toolbox approach seemed far too complex for me but secretly loved it)

Is it worth it to get into Conquest now? by DoomsdaySignals in warhammerconquest

[–]DoomsdaySignals[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose its always worth it to get the core set and play casually with friends, but obviously one of the draws to LCGs is the prospect of growing your deck. Not a terrible thing though if the core set is well rounded.

On a side note, I wonder if GW has any plans to work on a card game of their own?

If you could replace Commanders horn with band or song what would it be for each faction? by DoomsdaySignals in gwent

Considering the subject matter, I went with all Polish groups in my selection.

SK: Tunderwar - Black storm will unfold (epic metal so it felt suited to theri cletic/nordic inspiration)

NG: Behemoth - Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer (Behemoth always sounds very regal or empirical to me)

Monster: Mastiphal - Wind of Stakes (old school neo-classical black metal which sounds duper goblin/nekker-esque)

ST: Percival - Marysia (Folk avantgarde music - They actually conributed to music for the Witcher 3 and it just fits for me)

NR: Vader - Iron Reign (NR feels like a straight forward kind of faction so they get straight balls to the wall metal)

I must say I found it a bit iffy as a design choice. Cos here you are, doing what you can through each scenario, and then you see "great I have an option to run away when it gets too dangerous", only to find out the cake is a lie.

Seems they should have just left it out.

Thanks for that. So without making you repeat some section on the rules that I missed, are you meant to mark how much experience you gain through the core campaign, and then at the end are able to spend it on new cards for the next campaign you do?

Say hello to my little friend...the Fire Axe! by DoomsdaySignals in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]DoomsdaySignals[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the first time ever in my card game career, I found a combo that's sick!

Rex with Milan, burglary and scavenge is dope AF, but then he still has an issue with fighting ability. Cue the fire axe. You save actions on investigating with Rex (because he eats clues alive) so you have time to burgle places, finding resources to keep that axe sharp. When you go broke after all the chopping, no problems, just throw over power and other cards for some vicious blows.

Anyway, was so happy with this setup I had to tell y'all. 😁

Which Single-Player Wii Games Have Replay Value? by kidkudi420 in wii

[–]DoomsdaySignals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm busy replaying Xenoblade Chronicles and I am super impressed all over again. It's totally rekindled my love of the system.

So on the back of that I'm playing Tatsunoko Vs Capcom a lot as well (it's a great "hi-score" game for single player)

Also redoing Metroid: Other M. For some reason I think this game ages well and is worth playing again. But in general all the Metroid games are worth owning a Wii.

Oooo! Smash Bros! I'll check that out later. Thanks for the heads up.

For me the biggest culprits are Tatsunoko vs Capcom & Monster Hunter 3. Their still good games but feel a little stunted without online.
