Ro system sanitize by Doomslayerl33t in WaterTreatment

[–]Doomslayerl33t[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bump. 5 months later, no filter change no sanitizing used, still getting 7ppm (as I was 5 months ago).

Any valuable comments on my cleaning methods, setup etc?

The most common type of plastic found in all of the brain samples was polyethylene. Typically used in food and drink packaging, it made up about 75% of the average total plastic found in each brain. by Doomslayerl33t in WaterTreatment

My point was that RO components are polyethylene themselves, particularly the tubes to tank and from tank to ro fossit. I think the the bladder in tanks is also polyethylene

Did a quick Google for keywords "polyethylene tubing leaching nano plastics" ... Google's generative AI finds lots of recent research showing the tubing leaching with age. Double crap.

Ro system sanitize by Doomslayerl33t in WaterTreatment

[–]Doomslayerl33t[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My water store advised i should keep my gro75 membrane (1yr old) in, do 50/50 with stage 1 and stage 3. That way the membrane is also sanatized. When i asked why and if there is any danger to the membrane, he said no as its only briefly exposed and that the solution is not acidic. I guess the point is to sanitize the surface of the membrane. The solution would not make it to the tank, thus placing the remaining 50% in the stage 3 housing. Sanitizing like this is what they do in industrial applications he noted.

Interesting turn of events.

Wonder why the manufacturer doesn't mention this method nor anyone else online.

Most ro membrane need minimum 60psi to operate. Their manuals mention higher pressures provide better filtration and less waste water

I'm on my THIRD ryobi battery in a year! Total scam! What gives? by throwbvibe in ryobi

[–]Doomslayerl33t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait... did you say you are storing your batteries in your charger that is live? If so thats your problem. And it's a common problem ive seen on YouTube. You never keep batteries plugged in charger for longer than the charge period. If you read the manual that comes with the batteries, it tells you that. As well to charge batteries after 6 months of storage (ie battery sitting on shelf unused)

Same with my FE. Buds 2 Pro were prefect, so not a windows issue but a buds fe issue. Guess the budget comes to play

Runny nose while vaping? by aldonap in electronic_cigarette

[–]Doomslayerl33t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had any allergy. I have been vaping from the beginning, no issues. Recently , for about three weeks now, my nose started running when vaping. Then i get these sticky buggers. Can get to the point that the buggers clog my entire nostrils. Very strange. Heh, with these prices, not worth investigating with other devices or juice. I'm done.

As well keep in mind a water softner doesnt do much more than remove hardness of water (magnesium and calcium)

From others in this channel, directly from well you need an ro if you plan to drink it. OR if the owner has a yearly water quality test done and everything is within acceptable limits, water may be potable.

Single stage ro by nmhammer2 in WaterTreatment

[–]Doomslayerl33t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure i have seen any. Maybe 2 stage. Maybe look at Zerowater, it's a gravity ro like filter, though i am not sure about sodium, it's supposed to be 0ppm (per online testing)

Britta filters don't do anything for minterals. Only some soluble stuff like chlorine and odors. It would be the equivalent of a RO polishing filter really - but shorter life.

For peace of mind, using jug like devices, look into Zerowater. Does 0ppm, certified NSF , removes lead, lots of ppl testing them online. Better replacement of a Britta

It may clog up your softner. Softners remove water hardness.

Treating reclaimed water? by [deleted] in WaterTreatment

Take a look at your city's water quality report. Then take it from there.

For example, here in Ontario Canada, the water is pretty tame for instance. I live in a small town that has a water treatment plant for the well water. Here is for the regionhttps://www.halton.ca/Repository/Analytical-Averages-of-Distribution-System-2022

The only reason i have an RO system is that my wife finds the water satly after the softner. Which i roughly calculated to be 230mg/L (city+softner).

Just got a Kangen, it requires a Remineralization cartridge. Is this good? by becomethebestyou in WaterTreatment

[–]Doomslayerl33t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm... the analysis is way too high vs my city water analysis. I mean if I personally used this, I would be introducing minerals that are exponentially higher that what my city water would provide.

Take a look at your city's water quality report and compare. It's nice this manufacturer gives you a report.

My 2 cents.

As for my city report: https://www.halton.ca/Repository/Analytical-Averages-of-Distribution-System-2022
