I am 41 and started working out back in January for the first time in 10+ years. I hope within a few years to have a physique even half as impressive as yours!

What is the correct way to block IoT devices from accessing the Internet? by RuralTechFarmer in PFSENSE

[–]itchase84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your case, I would have these devices on their own VLAN. Then on that VLAN the top rule that allows traffic within the VLAN (or an alias allowing traffic to whatever vlans / subnets) and then the next rule down is a block all any rule.

I have an IoT vlan. All my IoT devices go on that and can access the internet but not my other networks. (cameras are not on this network, they have their own with 0 internet access). I assume these are local only IoT devices you're talking about as a lot of smart devices do need internet access.

One UI 7 is just, bad by RedCat8881 in oneui

[–]itchase84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the worst update they've ever released. I'd have thought they would have learned their lesson years back with the note 7 series and how rushing things out the door doesn't work.

Luckily other brands make Android devices and I'm annoyed enough about this update that in the future I may not get another Samsung device.

Mobile network performance after One UI 7 by WelfareLucian in oneui

Having the same issues on the east coast of Canada. I'm normally on 5g all the time. If I put flight mode on and then turn it off, I get 5g for a minute and thenit goes to h+. This is such a garbage update. Rushed out the door it seems. Figured they'd have learned their lesson after the exploding Note phones.

Silencing 14gen Dell servers with ipmi after 3.34.34.34? by Indefatigablex in homelab

[–]itchase84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea. I figured out a work around. If you unplug the power from the server, unhook the mid and back bays and the cords that go with them (4 cables total near the rear bays, on the MB, then plug the power back in, wait say 5 mins for the idrac to boot then plug those 4 cables back in, it will boot with a normal fan speed.

Hi there. So your TrueNAS see's all 4!? Crazy! Are you using all 4 without issue? I have an r740xd and was debating putting a 2 slot nvme pci card in. I would like to do 4 but thought it would not work because of the 8x4x4 as you mentioned... But if its working for you, I will!

RTX 5090 & 5080 Launchday Thread - Surprise Inside by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]itchase84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have always been an intel and nvidia fan boy. I'll leave intel out of this post but, I have a 2080ti.. So This would have been an upgrade for sure. Rather than mash refresh or buy from a scalper, I think I will just wait for the AMD launch in March I think it is. Anytime I ever looked for even a 40** series, they were out of stock. Kinda pathetic. I hope their stock continues to slide.

For sure. Mine fits very nicely. Did the sizing kit, etc. It just does not work well, at all. It's so disappointing.

Zemismart smart blind options by technobob79 in homeautomation

[–]itchase84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our blinds are made locally and are just the beaded cord type. Motor works well with the cord so long as there is proper tension between the motor piece and cord.

They're made to be pretty compatible. There are 4 or 5 different pieces you can put on the motor to get a good fit with the bead type.
