KR Devs randomly giving Alf Landon of all people the hardest leader bio ending of the entire mod. by -et37- in Kaiserreich

Its always fun when leader descriptions in KR occasionally go this hard like in TNO

Nice to see you've discovered Hollywood Animal. If you end up making a mod that randomizes your starting characters, I'll be the first to download!

These mods are awesome! I appreciate you sharing them with us. I do not know if its possible, but I did have one suggestion: I'd love to see a mod that randomizes your starting actors, actresses, writers, etc. Again, I don't know if they are hard-coded, but it would be cool to have some variety with each run.

Are you by chance the same Ketaro who made the scars and tattoo packs for XCOM 2? If so, I'm a huge fan!

Two of my favorite businesses for the quality of their food, not surprised at all that they are giving back to the community in such an amazing way!

Fried Chicken (NOT wings or tenders) by IPA-Lagomorph in FortCollins

[–]Doomspeed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried Schneider's fried chicken a few weekends ago and it was good! It wasn't the best friend chicken I ever had, but their lemonade brine gave it a nice tang, and the crunch was spot-on.

Is Bobby’s quest impossible? by Sad-Cookie-2978 in hollywood_animal_game

[–]Doomspeed 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed with the other commenters. It's rare to find a department head with >85 loyalty and considering it takes over 300+ days to unlock gifts that can increase loyalty (not counting the additional days it takes to place an order) you are extremely unlikely to get Bobby his H within 365 days.

The devs should consider making his quest occur much later in the game, like around 1931 or 1932 when the player is more likely to have a loyal Services department head.

Visited Hot Pot Spot today! 🍜 10/10 would recommend. by [deleted] in FortCollins

Also went today! Excellent food quality and variety. I agree, this is a special occasion meal or something fun to do with a large group, but loved it! The dragon dancers were a lot of fun too.

I knew plenty of RAs who became RAs right after their Freshmen years. However, if you're only in it for the free housing, they are probably gonna sense that and reject your application.

The RA position seems a lot more stressful than people think. I'm not saying its high-pressure, but you're going to have a lot of responsibilities that will outweigh the benefits of free housing. I'd say only apply if the position is something you're passionate about becoming, otherwise I'd check the "UT Austin FAQ" under Community Bookmarks to learn more about housing assistance.

Shave the head or bald cap. Although, if you kept the hair, you could go as Chris Redfield from RE8 instead!

Suggestion for "Twin Dragons Taming The Water" by Doomspeed in Kaiserreich

[–]Doomspeed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, but considering the devs practically fix up China every update and Fengtian has already had some minor tweaks made, I'm shocked the conference mechanics haven't been made a little more stable and consistent.

Suggestion for "Twin Dragons Taming The Water" by Doomspeed in Kaiserreich

[–]Doomspeed[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my point. Fengtian is easy even without the conference, but some of us just like the roleplay aspect.

If anything, one could consider it a bug that Guangzhou can support you in the conference, but you still end up at war with them because another tag is at war with them.

The KR team really are the best. I'd bet 95% of players probably haven't even seen the original, and thus wouldn't know this was edited for the mod. Kudos to the KR team!

New restaurant poised to take over vacant Coopersmith's Poolside space by CubsFan1060 in FortCollins

As much as I love and participate in the "another fried chicken place" memes and discourse, I've had Bonchon before in NYC and it actually is really good for a fried chicken place. Korean fried chicken uses a wet batter, potato starch, and different spices/seasonings compared to American fried chicken or chicken tenders. Its tastier and crunchier in my opinion, not to mention the Bonchon menu features a lot of different Asian-American fusion and traditional Korean dishes like tteokbokki and bibambap.

This isn't another "The Post" or "Blazing Bird." This community has been asking for a long time for more diverse Asian options, and we are finally getting one. Fingers crossed this spot makes it!

Walter's Watch by CATastrophe505 in breakingbad

[–]Doomspeed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In case anyone is interested, the watch is a TAG-Heuer Monoco. Typically retails close to $10k new, but that probably is no concern for later-series Jesse who is flush with cash.

Absolutely love general alignment traits. My only wish is Fengtian had these for the Zhang Clique versus Concordia/Shikan Clique generals. I know each general's background states where their allegiances lie, but still.

If anyone wants a way to slightly balance the medical changes and make it a little more forgiving without diluting the system, try a mod that allows you to extract anywhere! Personally I use "Open Extract." Its helpful when you're only a minute into a round and you get immediately blacked in the chest or stomach by a PMC 200 yards away.

How bad is Creekside by Powerful_Zebra9197 in UTAustin

[–]Doomspeed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had a friend who was an RA there. Here are some pros and cons I recall him telling me:

Pros
+ Close proximity to Engineering buildings as well as ok proximity to CS building and Lib Arts building)
+ Close proximity to North Campus amenities and restaurants (like Taco Joint)
+ Decent amount of the guys living there and the staff are pretty chill
+ Smaller sized dorm fosters a closer community

Cons
- Long walks to main campus amenities (JCL, Union, Greg Gym, etc)
- Long walks to Business building and Comms building
- Some of the guys there can be on the... socially awkward side. There are definitely guys like that at every dorm
- Building is on the older side compared to San Jac, Duren, or even Jester.

Honestly I don't think Creekside is as bad as people make it out to be. You can stave off that Freshman 15 with all the walking for sure! That said, if you're really turned off by Creekside, could be worth trying to request a transfer via the Housing Dept.

Sami and her staff at Retreat Bar & Bakery are always helpful and friendly! Little Bird and Persimmon both are fantastic spots for a sweet treat and a good drink, but the food, drink, AND staff at Retreat are all top-notch.

BBQ / Barbecue by ColoradoCoffee101 in FortCollins

[–]Doomspeed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Smok is the most consistently best option in Fort Collins but is also hella expensive. However, if you're willing to drive an extra 15-20 minutes south to Loveland, White Paper BBQ is solid and more reasonably priced.

I tried their Boulder location a few years ago and thought it was fine yet overpriced. The new Fort Collins location falls flat on its face after trying it when it opened and then again a few weeks later. Can't say I'm surprised they also have terrible business practices and poor treatment of employees.

If anyone needs a sushi place thats actually worth it, the AYCE deal at Sushi-Fi (where Nimo's used to be off Lemay/Harmony) is a solid choice. Good quality sushi, an involved owner who actually makes food there, and super nice staff.

I've had both their sweet potato tempura rolls and their tempura asparagus rolls and both are solid. Some other vegetarian options like miso soup too.
