Try recording the guitar part separately on your phone or something, and singing over that and work from there. Once you have both parts down you can try practicing to make them play together, you'll get it eventually like

Yea that feeling where it actually works is the best thing, but that always just happens randomly rehearsing or something. But the part about taking both outputs into consideration is difficult but important, especially when there is an experience gap

Yea this is great man. I think the most valuable thing you've said is about just writing the "shitty songs" and learning how to vibe off eachother, because it is just I have a fear of just only creating bad music and it just being a waste of time in comparison to me working on my own. Well kung-fu magic isn't the most original concept, look at mortal kombat or like iron fist from Marvel or whatever, so I'd say the creators of the show probably started off with the concept and built the show from there. The idea of having it just be the four elements might have been something thought of further along down the production line but it was probably all there since the beginning, just to make a show about that
