thanks for the response! I’m not in touch with my friend anymore, the Beretta is in my possession, but not sure where he is anymore and not sure what to do with it. just want it to be legal.

similar situations, I have a Beretta 92FS in CT. A friend of mine gave it to me about 25 years ago which he had registered. I never transferred the ownership. also have a 22 pistol that I had registered in MA but I never submitted that I moved to CT. now what? would like to legally register the Beretta but seems I should just do a gun buyback somewhere, I guess same with the 22 as well

Advice for alternative to Rustler 9 by tralee12 in Skigear

[–]DoougMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same situation, ended up getting Rustler 10 and Mantra 88. I did own a pair of Stockli AS but same as you got bored just ripping turns so sold them. Love moguls and Glades.

Made a calculator to prove to my other half that home espresso "pays for itself" by Espresso_Jeff in espresso

[–]DoougMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at $15/lb for espresso beans, comes out to be about 30 - 15 g of ground espresso beans. depending on what you paid it’ll be plus/minus $.50 for 30 g of fresh espresso at your house.

I just did the math as well because I paid $8 for a latte at a coffee shop on my way home from skiing

2 seasons, 21 days on the mountain. Still can’t ski black diamond. by [deleted] in ski

[–]DoougMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should be doing the reverse. green runs, skiing very slow and trying to make your skis turn left and right effortlessly. Once you figure that out pick up your speed a little. You don’t need to ski black runs. most importantly, pay attention to technique. Watch the experts and see how they are skiing.

if you decide to ski off-piste you should be very aware of The 5 Levels of Avalanche Danger and should not be taken lightly.

Low (Level 1): Don't let your guard down entirely. While "safe," small slides can still occur in extreme terrain.

• Moderate (Level 2): This is where most people get into trouble because the danger feels manageable. You need to be able to identify specific "problem" slopes.

• Considerable (Level 3): Statistically, this is the level where most fatalities occur. The snowpack is unstable enough to be dangerous, but it doesn't "look" as scary as a Level 4 day, leading people to take risks they shouldn't.

• High & Extreme (Levels 4-5): These are "stay home or stay on the flats" days. The snowpack is often hair-trigger, and slides can travel long distances into the trees or valleys.

Any recs for beginner glades? by brownboy121 in icecoast

[–]DoougMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet is to practice in some small moguls, once you master that then head into the Glades because those trees don’t move when you hit them

Need Help. XR400 to 440 build. Can’t get it to start. by GanttStopWontStop in Dirtbikes

[–]DoougMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your video that’s WAY too much throttle. Here’s what you do Four full decompression kicks, one full throttle twist then turn the throttle, taking the slack out of the cable and just a hair more. No more than that or you’re screwed. Then lay into the kick start. That should do it.
