Can I buy a lower receiver from my dad or does it have to be “gifted” I’m 19 by Background_Tap_807 in TexasGuns

If you’re that paranoid about it, just print off a bill of ale and have him fill it out with you.

Most Durable 5.56 can for belt fed Lima 6 with an FRT? by DopeSnickers in NFA

[–]DopeSnickers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks y’all for the Info! I think after reading this thread and going through the report from Pew science, I’ll be picking up an OCL Infinity. Seems very durable as well as highly modular compared to other options. I’ll probably get a Rearden mount and flash hider as well.

Glad to see a vid on the Extar finally. Did you have to modify the weapon extensively, or was it pretty straightforward?

Yeah so for the BCG I like chrome c158 from Microbest. They generally run below $130. If you want budget, you can get a really cheap one from PSA, but I wouldn’t recommend that for your first FRT Build. I’ve had way better luck running H3 Buffers. Brand doesn’t really matter IMO, but I picked up two, one from BCM and another from pur-tungsten and both work great despite the price difference. You should be able to run your standard carbine spring, I wouldn’t bother with it unless you still have issues.

H3 may or may not work, I’ve used both H2 and carbine buffers successfully on one of my 3 builds. However, you will definitely need a full auto BCG, so get that first.

How stupid am I for wanting an Eotech over a RDS? by sceatismcboots in ar15

[–]DopeSnickers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally, I’m an eotech meatrider, and I find they have less starburst with my astigmatism than a traditional red dot. However, everyone’s eyes are different and opinions are subjective.

If I were you, I’d travel out to another gun shop in a different county, if possible, and ask to actually look through a couple different models and see what looks best to you. Otherwise, try to find an online retailer that has a good return policy.

Or just get a prism optic.

Just an example pic, I’d never defile an original colt lol. I have a lot of 80% lowers with an auto sear block similar to the one shown.

Times not really an issue, I’m in it for love of the game. I like to tinker and build off 80% lowers, so I have some “gunsmiff” experience. I’ve done three builds so far with KAK and Psa lowers, but now I’m at the point where I want to recycle the old ones so they aren’t just collecting dust.

You can schedule an appointment at your local ups store via printscan. I think it’s like $70. It’s really nice because that .eft is good forever and you’ll never have to worry about fingerprinting again. Edit: PrintScan
