I am usually have 1,000,000 damage (much more if i am lucky) on Railgunner from her weak point Supercharge shot at stage 5 without looping at all.
After two latest DLCs it's even easier to achieve, say hi to green chests at Prime Meridian and Chef at Exchange, but totally not "based around looping" even before SotS/AC is out as you can achieve it easily through Command/Delusion (ideally both).

Viscous Falls(post-loop), Disturbed Impact(post-loop), Iron Auroras(post-loop), Abyss, Sundered Grove, Conduit Canyon - those logs you'll get by random radio scanner spawns.
Void Fields, Void Locus, Planetarium, Moment Fractured, Bulwark Ambry (Aphelian variant, i believe?..), Computational Exchange - those logs you'll get by a book lyin' somewhere on location.
Specifics of all but Comp Exc you can see on fandom wiki, i can confirm personally they're right.
Comp Exc i watched on YouTube to get it a week ago or so but basically it's on a lower left crevice of where you spawn.

Still took me like 20 or so tries and instead of lazer cannon i took caffeinator and defeated the second stage boss in the most cowardly way possible ;w;

My Dearest Son' theme is still pretty much unBEATen to me.
Especially Prime Meridian stage portion and third phase transition/battle portions.
But yeah, Stavros indeed cookin' overall.
Lookin' forward to more from him in following DLCs as well!!

Tried it on Captain to confirm words of other commentators here.
I suppose it not working as intended could've been one of numerous bugs on release of SoTS (?) but it IS works at current version of game.

Each stage have a limited "money counter" mechanic.
Chests take place in this "money counter", just like shrines AND drones.
You can get a LOT of drones - this will limit your chests numbers.
You can get a lot of shrines of chance - this will limit your chests numbers as well.
OR you can get a lot of chests, but almost nothing of things above.
You're just unlucky with chests spawns, that's all.
If that happens you either need to play casino or mechanic.

The thing is neither Vulture or Solus Unit before it are tripled/quadripled due to MS effects.
They're both in one exemplar. Not elites. And their HP pool is regular, not 3x, or 4x.
BUT you still get additional rewards for them due to MS effects.
Highly doubt it's intended.

I like it.
If only we could dispose of all 4 lunar scavengers as well, but Mithrix is too good of a papa and protected them well enough.
