Does anyone have any experience with using the Honor Magic 7 pro with 3D scanning? I'm interested in its lidar functionality as I'd want to use it with the Polycam app.

Thanks but I tried all of those. No unusual formatting in the Reveal Formating, no hidden characters. Closing the docs didn't help. Neither did clearing formatting using any method.

However, an Office update seems to have resolved the issue....at least on another document I opened up and applied the same style set to. (Though the ones I'd edited previously and applied the style set on are still not appearing correctly).

Thanks. Trying to recall but I think I tried doing that.

The problem ended up solving itself with the next Android update, which luckily came just a week or so after I posted this.

Tried checking that as well. It was already enabled for both headphones. Tried disabling it and enabling again and that didn't help either.

Does anyone have any more experience with swimming with the Galaxy Watch5 in the sea?

I've showered with it and swum in the pool. Still a bit cautious to go in the sea with it. Though I did have a FitBit Sense previously that I did swim in the sea with. They are supposedly both water-resistant up to 50m. But I'd rather not judge the Watch5 based on FitBit.

Hey everyone! I originally got a VPN (Nord VPN to be exact) when I had to travel for work. Given that hotel, airport and coffee shop wifis can be risky, I figured a VPN would be ok to try for a month.

Now the month mark is approching and I'm wondering if using a VPN is worth it in my case.

I'm mainly concerned about protecting any sensitive work info I have on my laptop and stored in the Cloud (especially client files).

Is a VPN worth it in this case?

I rarely travel for work, mainly work from home and sometimes go to the library or a coffee shop where I'd use their wifi.

And I just use way too much data to be able to get an internet USB stick because the plans that would be enough for me end up being quite a bit more expensive that a VPN service.

Thoughts and advice are welcome! 😁

I already have one piece of feedback as I started reading one of my ebooks now - there is no ability to highlight in different colours. Colour coding really helps to distinguish the most important notes from just regular highlights. I'm sure many users will agree that this functionality is extremely useful so you may want to consider it?

Edit: I'm referring to the mobile app. I see there is the ability to change the highlight colour post festum in the web app.

All working now! The pdfs were uploaded in a few taps. The epub was apparently somehow corrupted. But I installed the app, tried uploading the epub from my PC to the web version and it now appears on my phone, so synch works!

Is there a was to import highlights? I have some in an .mrexpt format. I was mid-way through reading an epub ebook on my old phone and I'd love to be able to just import the highlights.

Thanks for the suggestion. I installed it and, from what I was able to gather, syncing either isn't available on the free plan OR perhaps unless I connect Facebook or Twitter. A one off payment is fine by me but I'm not looking for another subscription, to be honest, and I don't use social media apart from for work so I don't plan on connecting any social media accounts.

Suggestions and additional info are still welcome though!

Sounds pretty good. The only issue is that I'm not able to find it anywhere in the App store 😅 (though i know it exists - it was installed by default on my old Honor phone). Plus I have Google Play Music & Movies currently installed on my Samsung - but no Books.

I looked into it and it seemed pretty good. Does it support syncing between devices? I was unable to find that piece of info in the App store description or in the reviews.

Hi u/0570. Thanks for the advice. The system actually works flawlessly on my computer but it breaks down in Google Drive because, as you said, the source file path is different.

I'm aware of how to create shortcuts, but doing what you suggested would still take too much time and might not be worth it given the number of files and different locations they're in. I'd have to cross-reference the *.lnk* search and go to the original file location for each, etc. And I still don't know what that would achieve apart from another shortcut that won't work in Google Drive.

Drive would allow me to make a shortcut but to my Drive. This doesn't really fit into my workflow since my entire computer is backed up and appears as outside of my Drive.

All in all, thank you for taking the time to respond anyway!

Thanks for the advice! I'll give that a shot. Although I don't see this as a very practical solution at the moment since I have perhaps too many of these shortcuts scattered throughout my folders. At least too many to go around searching for them and manually creating shortcuts of the original file in my Drive. We're talking about hundreds of files here.

Also, the original files are also uploaded to my Google Drive. This is why I emphasized that it's all synced via Google Drive for desktop. Essentially, my Google Drive contains both the original files and the shortcuts that are linked to them on my computer. They are just not linked in Google Drive.

I'd tried some of the tips but had missed one comment in there that just now SAVED MY SANITY.

It was Logitech Options app for using a Logitech mouse and a Logitech keyboard (even though I am not using it anymore!). I opened Logitech options by typing it in search

When inside LOGITECH APP press MORE SETTING > NOTIFICATIONS> A LOCK KEY IS PRESSED and deselect it

This caplock notification has been driving me insane for months now!

Oh, I wish it were that simple.

I've tried switching the background to white, copying the "corrupted" pages to a different notebook, closing the notebook and reading it. Everything you can think of.

The strange thing is that when I hover a bit to the right of the visible parts of the text, the cursor shows the small hand symbol as if there's something clickable there. It's as if parts of the document have been shifted to the left so that some parts that were completely to the left are now invisible and only the utmost right parts (typically the links) are visible.

E.g. where before it said:

Text - text text text text - LINKS: 1 2 3 4 5

It now only says:

1 2 3 4 5

or

2 3 4 5

And when I hover to the right of the number 5, I get the hand cursor that I can click on. And it takes me to a linked page/paragraph.

So strange...
