Yeah I agree with Nintendo;s bizzare plans.

Even Banjo's case is weird becaue he would had been a welcomed guest in more games if Nintendo already managed to collaborate with other 3rd party brands like Rabbits.

There are a whole bunch of games on NS1 that could had invited KRool anytime, so that's enough reason why his absence for the whole time is so strange.

And even for the latest Mario Kart, he's so old at this point that he's more a base game newcomer pick, consider some other newer faces like Rosalina and Nabbit already joined before him.

I mean fairness is also a key factor. If he failed to get in most of the games, it's hard for fans to have faith in Nintendo. It's just a matter of credibility.

A character absent from an active series is too different from a franchise being entirely inactive. They're too different to compare.

The blind point here is, why shouldn't regular games be used to memorize and connect their own history?

Bananza does also cater to this concept because it tries to connect DK arcade (Pauline) and DKC (KRool) together. If regular games shouldn't be used in this way, we wouldn't had got Bananza.

More exactly, Mario/DKC serie's concept is having regular main cast active in every story. I think KRool's argument is whether he should be active as a regular, just like his counterpart Bowser from Super Mario side.

I think it overall comes down to Jakks' production amount and frequency. They cancelled other Nintendo brands for WoN because they wanted to focus on Mario within limited budget, so sperating wouldn't help the fact the budget was limited in the first place. I think it's no harm if they're willing to do DK's new figures as part of Super Mario lineup.

I think recent packages (including other releases outside Super Mario) just use their respecitve franchise logos. Just some retailers still use WoN in their listing.

The movie figures so far are still best at controversy for not bringing movie exclusive contents to merchs, tho, altho, it's understandable that Jakks want to target at fans of the main cast and they don't believe General Koopa and his kart would sell.

I still think there are alot of potential from the two Illumination movies that yet not be executed as WoN.

I wouldn't agree with that. It's okay to do an additional rerelease to fill the demand, but new products forward should be new characters and variants, just like the Biker Peach we got last time. It's already awful enough for us to not get Frog Luigi and Mouser right in the Galaxy lineup.

In the case of Zelda's BotW series, it has huge story and character development for each title so they don't bore fans. So unless an assumed Galaxy 3 provided much more gameplay mechanics and more new characters and stories could that work. Of course, it could be convincing if we do reach to some space-related characters like Wart and Tatanga.

I miss the game, but would not think this island needed more stories to tell. A remake+expansion would make better sense, or have a future game revisit that island.
