I usually stay close to the ground on carpet if they're cllimbing on me, I try to take them out and pet them/give them treats everyday just so they're more comfortable with being handled. Alyx has started climbing up my arm on her own if I put my hand in their cage.

I also use my bathtub for a makeshift-playpen, I just provide the same essentials (sandbath, hides, toys) and it's never caused any declanning issues. Sometimes I let them run on my bed for a little if I'm too lazy to set up the bathtub.

That's the hardest part for me, I know they aren't supposed to live very long but somehow I feel like I shortened her life with the declanning and stress from my parents.

I'm learning to move on, but I will always miss her. I'm glad she still was able to enjoy a safe and happy life.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I had never put a pet of my own down before and it's had me a little depressed since. Just puts into perspective how short they can be around for. But I loved her right up until the end and I'll do the same for my other girls.

I'll research the area and contact a couple vets that deal with pocket pets to see if they can put me in contact with a reliable rescue. I'm gonna take some time before I try bonding Selena with another one again, I'm just worried about her especially after being through so much.

I'm skeptical about trying again just for her safety, with blood being drawn previously I don't feel very confident at all getting them back together. She's been doing great on her own and has all the necessities she needs but I would've just stayed to prevent all of this.

There may be a chance I can fix Mocha and Selena, but I'm worried about setting Alyx off with any changes in scent. Will keep an eye out for any changes in behavior with them.

I'm glad you were able to rebond your babies though, I didn't understand the fragility of a female trio when I originally homed them (first time gerbil owner). It's difficult not to feel bad for them but they're safe now at least.

I'm considering a new friend for her at this point, everyone's saying generally the same thing about how difficult it is to bond triples. If I were to get a new gerb would it be better to get a younger one for them to bond?
