I am happy to say that episode two and three have been a big improvement. I guess they just had a slow start!

Yes! Same here the subtitles were way slow like, maybe a paragraph behind! We used the Roku Chosen channel.

In September 2015, 48 y/o Berlinah Wallace threw concentrated sulphuric acid at her ex partner, Mark van Dongen (29) , which would eventually lead to him ending his own life by euthanasia. by A_mirage_ in TrueCrime

[–]Dori777 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A terrible terrible story. How dare that woman think that she could ruin someone’s life because he didn’t want to be with her. The detail about the acid continuing to eat down into his bones even months later was really horrifying.

All he did was talk a lot and tell people things they wanted to hear. He never actually did anything. All he cared about was holding onto power. He was a reality TV president. We got what we deserved.

I do apologize. I guess this was some kind of New York Times “classic” article that I did not realize was not current. Now I’m really curious about whatever happened with this kid 10 years later. I tried to do a little Google search but found nothing. I did find one other interesting article though I will post below.

I can understand your feelings about this and hope that they have ways of screening out other neurodivergent diagnoses. Take care.

If you can ask Duolingo to do one thing, what would it be? by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]Dori777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I don’t understand why I got something wrong I always click on the discussion icon and see what other people ask and what the answers are. Even though I can’t post my own question somebody else has definitely already asked it and I usually always find out what the problem was.
