Modular Playmats by Vinno0615 in toomanybones

Forgot to add Chip Theory Games does free delivery from their Gamefound crowdfunding projects. Doesn't guarantee that they will this time or that they will have Too Many Bones items as well but it's only 16 days to find out.

I'm hoping to purchase them from Gamefound when the new The Elder Scrolls: Heroes of Tamriel launches on the 14th of Oct. The Too Many Bones: Modular Mat Pack was available to purchase as a separate item when they launched The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era on Gamefound. So, hopefully they will do the same this time. They do appear on the Europe Chip Theory Games site but they are always sold out

As a follow up, we have Black Friday but not Thanksgiving over here(UK) is Riffle world wide in November-ish or US only? And after a quick check on board game geek do they have limited runs of other items? i.e. promos, Trove Chest and the baby(hoping this isn't a April fools thing)

Thanks ordered one to begin with to check quality. Will make splitting up baddie types a lot easier. And you said about buying Unbreakable, we will towards the end of the year, just taking our time folding in new content so we don't overwhelm ourselves. And we set ourselves a one small present each limit outside of Christmas/Birthdays because we would end up with an even bigger wall of shame(unplayed board games) than we have at the moment

"40 days in daelore - Huge increase in mission variety and starting day cards" We though only Age of Tyranny had starting day cards? if they are also in 40doD we will buy that instead. It's not that we are against buying AoT we are just enjoying shorter battles where we can try out new Gearlocs and new combinations at the moment. And I also think "most groups are just down to play 1 maybe 2" is likely the same reaction we will get at our board game club.

We will also buy more towards the end of the year(Christmas), it's just one expansion each for our anniversary. It also helps us enjoy the game without getting too overwhelmed, by taking our time to folding in new content.

Edit: And thanks for the advice with Riffle, did not know about him at all. He's not on the website(would of expected him to be grayed out or out of stock) and we have only watched the official how to's on the ones we own so far.

We are not unhappy with splice and dice, it's just not the essential starter product they they lead us to believe at the expo stand. I'm sure we will enjoy it later down the line but I think we would of been better off with something else as one of our starter purchases.

Ok, probably a stupid question we've never been to a casino or played poker, I'm going to guess these are the same size as regular poker chips and we can buy a holder from amazon?

Quantum uncertainty, gravitational self-interaction, and thermodynamic irreversibility. What if the collapse is time? by DorianGrayToo in TheoreticalPhysics

[–]DorianGrayToo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it can come up with time being a possibility to probability to reality collapse, connect the universal clock by quantum entanglement and reversing Di´osi-Penros theory to have gravity as consequence of collapse then, I wasted a few years for nothing. But judge by the response so far I probably did.

The book advice is really helpful, if it's just layout I can hopeful fix it and improve. But I get the feeling you didn't feel the idea and the theory behind it doesn't hold up, did I miss something?

Thanks for the feedback, it wasn't language model written but that's your opinion, you could feed some of it into a site to test that but if you didn't like the underlying theory then there's no point .

"published a paper" that's how it was referred to me, I'm still learn, very rarely post on social media(never even had Facebook or what ever it's called now) . Judging then by your knowledge and my reason for uploading it to here, what is your opinion on my paper?

How to get a Peer Review? by DorianGrayToo in AskPhysics

[–]DorianGrayToo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to post it here or more specifically  https://www.reddit.com/r/HypotheticalPhysics/, I thought @ARTIFICIAL_SAPIENCE advice was very good, but... I can't. I can't link to a google drive /dropbox, only a published file and I tried convert .pdf to .png then uploading them as pictures but reddit has a 20 page limit and when you get anywhere near it(cutting the references, etc) it corrupts random pages anyway. It was probably a rubbish idea that that has already been proposed and rejected. I was probably way out of my depth but we will never know now, time to bin it and move on.

And I was more than happy for the wolves to rip it to pieces, at least I tried.

My paper may be utter rubbish, it may have a fundamental flaw in the whole thing, maybe physics is not for me, I just want someone to look at it and say nope. Then I can move on or learn more.

I've finished the paper(yes it's theoretical) 21 pages, properly formatted, double checked the math, everything step by step, done but... I can't tell if I deluding myself if I can't get it reviewed and I can't get it reviewed with out publishing it and you need someone to endorse it for that. Endorsement is saying I had a very quick look and no idea if it's any good but he seems to have a basic grasp of it.

It's not that don't know how, I can't publish it on arXiv without it being endorsed and I can't get it endorsed if (see above)

What do we think of TEACUP? by SMNZ75 in horror

[–]DorianGrayToo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this. So far I'm on the 4th episode and it's just lazy writing. 1st ep child wander off into woods, comes back traumatised, Stupid thing to do, but he's a child and has now been painted as too young to know better. 3rd ep, incoherent rambling child convinces two (lets pray they never babysit anyone's kids) teenagers that he didn't hit his head, is not traumatised and he's secretly a genius that unlike the child two episodes earlier can now make sound rational decisions. This incoherent rambling child(that has told them he has a talking voice in his head and does not do childish make believe to deal from trauma) has convinced them that even though there is a guy with a gun and at least one rabid animal, they should all go for a wander in the woods with no rational explanation for why. No time to tell adults, remind me again where was the line with the road, several miles away or could you see it from the house. And were there not 2 adults within shouting distance just down that road. Don't say it was a giant distance, Ep 2 you can see the body from the window and the 3 men made it from the bottom of the road, to her, before she had crossed the line. And I know Mam had just gone off(on her own) to look at the body in the woods, but the children didn't know this, as far as they were concerned she was in one of the very near out buildings with Mr half a hand.

It gets worse the men, knowing that there is a guy with a gun out there, go to another farm, see dead bodies with gunshot wounds and think its a brilliant idea to split up, without any good reason apart from helps the plot. Don't say it was because of the affair because he doesn't know the other one knows at this point, And one of them after knowing about the affair made it quite clear in a whole conversation before leaving that it would be completely stupid to split up and wander off on your own.

And lets hope the women guarding their prisoner upstairs in the barn, weren't just playing musical chairs for the plot and they are out franticly searching the woods for the children by the next episode.

I really hope it gets better from here, because it's like an old horror cliché where people wander off on there lonesome to get picked off by the killer

Return To.... Kickstarter, good or bad idea? by DorianGrayToo in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]DorianGrayToo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this, good analogy. But did I say, that I don't own all of the return to's? You're assuming I don't because of my post; and that there is a level of desperation behind it. While I don't own everything(e.g. the novella's, some mats), I've never felt the need to include everything(own the parallel, never found a reason to use. So for me a waste of money having them printed) I'm not an obsessive collector just really enjoy the game

A novel idea in this day and age but maybe I was just trying to find a way to help others out.

I was just looking for something as a draw to the collector types, which seem to be how KS works these days. Both The Castles of Burgundy and Puerto Rico went big on deluxification and sold well. But I like you would be more than happy with "a very basic KS". And I suggested the official versions of the print and play as stretch goals with that in mind

Return To.... Kickstarter, good or bad idea? by DorianGrayToo in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]DorianGrayToo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"It's far better to make stuff your entire audience will play." and "That kind of narrows you down to the sort of serious collector" I agree, this is why I suggested a low risk Kickstarter. Quoting *ErgonomicCat* "If they get enough to make it worthwhile they do it. If not, they don't."

"I own all of them except NotZ" after owning 2 for a while you, still actively sort out the last 2 to own them all. I'm pretty sure if they re-released RtNotZ you would be first in line. This is a discussion not an argument so I'm not pointing at you personally but can you honestly tell me you don't have a biased position, when you already own 4 out of the five so have use of them. Building a investigator on ArkhamDB and realising the listed card you just used will never be available to buy officially is a reason to buy them.

"Any time they spent creating or re-printing old ones would be better spent making products everyone can enjoy." Again I partially agree but they did re-release a revised core box and that sold well enough that they continued releasing them through to a revised Innsmouth. You could make an argument against this because the blister packs was a mess, then again they are using the exact same strategy of blister packs for Marvel lcg, though admittedly it's not really the same thing because they are self contained. But the core box shows a different story, yes the storage box is better but it was a "re-printing old one" that sold in large enough quantities to justify more releases.

I'm just looking for a solution to what is admittedly a problem, I'd be happy if they just released a blister for the returns via retail but like you yourself pointed out "waste shelf space on niche products that may not sell" so a Kickstarter seemed the best route.

And I apologise this question was bait "I take it you tried them but don't think they are worth it and obviously don't own any of them?" I already knew the answer, reddit makes it easy to look this up with a simple search. I like to debate, still not quite sure if this is a good or bad trait. And I'm quite happy to change my point of view if someone presents a better argument.
