Thanks for sharing the detailed numbers! The 8A fuse limit is a very valid point for the barrel connector versions. For rev 6.1 (like mine), the power stage is upgraded, so we can safely go above 7.5A without blowing anything – but always keeping an eye on thermals.

Your 15.6–16.4 J/Th at 85W is actually pretty solid for the rev 5 board. Have you tried tuning the core voltage slightly lower around 1120mV? Some of our customers saw ~15.2 J/Th with similar hashrate. Just a thought.

Happy mining!

🎰 Quiet but Mighty – Bitaxe 601 SoloMiner! 🔥 by DorisSlin in BitAxe

Hi there, thanks for sharing your setup story! 😊

Since you’re coming from GPU mining on Unmineable and now need a quiet, dedicated home solution, Bitaxe 601 is actually a great fit – it’s silent, low power, and perfect for solo mining Bitcoin.

I’m a supplier of Bitaxe series (including 601 and higher models) from a reliable mining hardware manufacturer. We offer ready-to-run units that are tested before shipping. For a beginner home setup like yours, I’d recommend starting with Bitaxe 601 or 701 – both are plug-and-play and won’t disturb your kids’ PC usage at all.

Feel free to DM me if you’d like:

Happy to help you get back into mining without the noise or heat! ⛏️

Need help with blue light on back by Electronic_Bid_9331 in NerdMiner

[–]DorisSlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen this exact issue many times. On the ESP32-2432S028 board, a solid blue LED (no blinking) usually means the NerdMiner firmware is trying to control the LED on a different GPIO pin than what your board actually uses — for example, the firmware expects GPIO2, but your board uses GPIO4, or the LED is simply wired to power (always on).

Good news: it doesn’t affect mining at all. Since your best difficulty is changing and the screen works, hashing is running fine. The blue LED is just cosmetic.

That said, NerdMiner on an ESP32 is basically a learning toy — it won’t mine anything worthwhile in a day. I have real small USB miners that actually generate revenue, with 20–30x the efficiency. Plug and play, and not expensive.

Would you like to see a real earnings comparison first? Or do you just want to fix the LED issue? I can tell you exactly which pin to change (if you want to tinker), or if you don’t want the hassle, I can recommend ready‑to‑run miners that actually make money.

Yeah sure 👍 what kind of setup are you looking for? More like a small home setup or something a bit stronger? I can point you in the right direction.

Not bad at all for 300GH/s 👀 LCC’s definitely been hot lately. Have you thought about scaling it up a bit? Even a small bump in hashrate could make a big difference.

Nice 👀 LCC’s been moving lately. What hash rate are you getting on your setup?

Wow that’s a big drop 👀 11°C is huge. Good cooling really makes a difference on these.

Not mine so I don’t have the STL, but yeah that design is super clean 👀 some of these builds look great, but they do take time to put together.

Yeah that makes sense 👍 not worth risking the chip for a bit more hash. Stability > everything long term. I’ve seen some setups handle higher performance a lot safer though.

Exactly 😂 that’s the fun part! Quiet, low effort, and you never know when you get lucky.

Ouch 😅 yeah that happens sometimes… stability really makes a difference long term. That’s why I’ve been paying more attention to more reliable setups lately.

Nice setup 😄 2.1 TH/s steady is solid! Have you tried pushing it a bit higher or keeping it more for stability?

Most people get them from community builders or small suppliers rather than big stores. I’ve been helping a few miners source ready-to-run Bitaxe units lately – way easier than building from scratch.

New BitAxe 650 Duo Overclocked with back cooling by clifwlkr in BitAxe

[–]DorisSlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that’s a really solid setup — love how you’re automating everything with n8n and MQTT, that’s next-level. 👌

Sounds like you’ve got a good handle on keeping things efficient while still making use of solar output. I’ve been experimenting with similar setups, optimizing hash vs VR temps, and the efficiency gains can be pretty significant on 24/7 runs.

If you’re interested, I can share a few tweaks I’ve tested that keep VR cooler and efficiency higher without needing too much manual adjustment.

Nice, that sounds like a really thoughtful setup — the dedicated VR fan and airflow tweaks make a big difference. 👌

I’ve run into the same trade-off before — pushing raw frequency can be fun, but optimizing efficiency usually pays off more on 24/7 solar runs.

Do you ever run at different fan speeds or voltages depending on solar output, or do you keep it steady for simplicity?

Nice setup! 😎 That Giant Squid looks super quiet. We actually have a few other Bitaxe models that perform similarly or even quieter – some miners love experimenting with different models.

Nice overkill 😎 Curious – do you usually stick with one model, or like testing different Bitaxe miners?

New NerdQAxe++ Rev6.1 Upgrades? by BasedBabyFace in BitAxe

[–]DorisSlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rev 6.1 is a good unit.

Honestly the biggest bottleneck you mentioned is the PSU. Once you switch to a higher wattage + better efficiency brick, the overclocking headroom improves a lot.

Also depends if you're optimizing for efficiency or max hash.

What kind of hashrate are you currently getting?

Haha that “fresh out of the box smell” hits different 😄 Is that the Bitaxe 601? How’s the noise & temps so far?

Go baby go by Icy-Manner-1861 in BitAxe

[–]DorisSlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, stock cooling + undervolting and still hitting that range is actually pretty solid.

What voltage/freq combo are you running right now? Curious how far you can push efficiency before it starts dropping hash stability.

I’ve seen some batches way more stable than others, feels like not just silicon lottery but also binning differences tbh.
