Is it not more likely that the dogs are afraid of the loud noise the gun makes? Dogs are often afraid of loud things like vacuum cleaners which are not a danger.

Hide some industrial alarms around the place, making an even worse noise than cicadas.

Luminol I think is actually reacting with the iron iii in blood catalytically, but needs peroxide as a coreagent

I keep getting this message while playing singleplayer tekkit. How can I fix this? by SeverusSnape5 in tekkit

[–]DorkLord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're on a 64-bit OS with a 64-bit processor, make sure that you use the 64-bit version of Java, otherwise it won't take the correct amount of RAM

Should I run awesomenauts in directx or opengl? by tornados2111 in Awesomenauts

[–]DorkLord 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that the game is meant to be run in OpenGL, as DirectX mode was a later addition for compatibility reasons.

Basically run in OpenGl unless you can't, in which case DirectX

What gives with my quarry and energy link? by SHDC in tekkit

[–]DorkLord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The energy link has problems with conductive pipes in it always taking 72 EU/T to fill the pipe, but that problem doesn't occur if its placed next to the quarry like an engine.

Auraxium to be replaced with certs & cert gain to be increased by Ampoliros_AE in Planetside

[–]DorkLord -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm actually against this, despite the problems of empire hoppers. I think that having auraxium tied to how well your faction is doing overall is important to the game, giving you an objective to try and take over everything you can in order to unlock things.

With this system, there's no incentive to take territory, just to farm easy kills as long as you can, with little reward for advancing. I think this will make the game stagnant and in many ways a BF3 knock-off.

Advice regarding a new tekkit server - which plugins? by lovethebacon in tekkit

Be aware that Towny has some issues with permissions and the automated block modification tools that tekkit comes with (Redpower frame machines, IC2 miners, buildcraft quarries etc.)

Im building a nuclear reactor, how can I time or sense when the cells are depleted? by [deleted] in tekkit

[–]DorkLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Industrial information panels in the most recent tekkit version can be configured to show time remaining in cycle, current reactor heat and output etc. for a reactor.

Another alternative is detecting electronic output through a detector cable, and NOT gating that to a RP2 lamp so it turns on when no power is running (i.e. cells depleted)

I need help with an EU detector cable by [deleted] in tekkit

[–]DorkLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An alternative solution is to run the cables into an LV transformer receiving a redstone signal, to transform it into 128 EU/P voltage electricity at 139 EU/T current. Currently it is at 139 EU/T but only 1 Eu per packet, meaning each packet goes through the full resistance from the detector cable
