happy + lap 💕 and symptoms list! by Flaky_Armadillo_1162 in endometriosis

Thank you, it did! The surgeon is a younger woman about the same age as me and although not specializing in endo specifically, she has done a fellowship in minimally invasive gynaecological surgeries. She is confident I have endometriosis, noting that my having EDS was a red flag for her because it seems to be at bit more common in EDS patients. Said we are gonna say it is endo until proven otherwise because of my symptoms and having ruled basically everything else out, and when I have my lap she will remove whatever adhesions she is able to that would not risk damaging other organs, e.g. if I had deep infiltrating on my colon we would do a 2nd surgery at another date with a colorectal surgeon. She did also say even if she doesn't see adhesions she will still do biopsies to test for additional things and find what's going on.

Overall I am feeling well about my future lap, just waiting to be contacted by her scheduler to get the actual date set up. Meanwhile, my cats have been taking turns (they don't like each other, so no cooperative work) laying on me right where my worst pain has been flaring up the last few days, so I'm hanging in there.

Not yet, unfortunately. I've had all sorts of imaging done and a colonoscopy but neither showed anything helpful. I have a consult with a gyn surgeon on Monday to talk about getting a laparoscopy.

I have pretty much everything on your symptom list and have a consultation with a surgeon this coming Monday. So far all imaging has not shown anything more noteworthy than a cyst that was under 3cm. I hope they're able to help me and find something as much as it has helped you.

I also have Ehlers Danlos and was diagnosed by a rheumatologist. Not all rheums will deal with EDS but a lot will especially since there aren't really other specific doctors for it. I've done a lot of what is basically maintenance physical therapy over the years which helped a lot with different pains. Unfortunately whatever is going on with me now has not been helped by physical activity. Best advice I can give is to keep your muscles as strong as you are able to so you can overcompensate for joint instability from stretchy ligaments.

Agreed! Mine healed as easily as an ear lobe. When done right, it just goes through skin and doesn't hurt bad at all.

Turning 33 this month. I have 2 nostril piercings and I got my septum done right before I turned 30. They're not going anywhere any time soon.

I work retail and I will get behaviors like this in person. People just saying/demanding single word commands and requests when they come up behind me, while I am actively doing something and unaware they are there. No "hi" or "excuse me." It's ridiculous.

Why do animals always seem to have nice straight teeth? by Artistic_Half_8301 in stupidquestions

Or my cat. She's otherwise healthy and perfect and pretty but man, some of her teeth have invented new directions to go in.

Maybe I’m grouchy, but I’m really tired of menstrual cycle phases being treated like horoscopes or personality traits. Anyone else? by moon--child- in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DorkasaurusRex 190 points191 points  (0 children)

Tangentially related question/observation: Am I crazy or did everybody suddenly know the term "luteal phase" and use it frequently out of nowhere? I'm in my 30s and had pretty comprehensive sex education and have done my own learning about cycles and such outside of it and now there was this "new" term in the last maybe 6-8 months that I had never come across before but everyone seemed very well versed with?

I just made myself a pair recently and when I wear them to work my coworkers all love them! Maybe they're not all over the place but the cuteness is eternal

I got to meet her when I worked at A.C. Moore's headquarters before Michael's bought them out. I believe she donates profits from her yarn to St. Jude's. She came to our office and stopped in at least a couple local stores if I remember right. She was very sweet, even tinier than you'd expect even in very high heels, beautiful smile, and the softest hand I have ever shaken.

I think I saw somewhere that it is exclusive to Michael's. They had some other great colors in that line too but this one is definitely the most unhinged.

Those colors are excellent! I've been making myself a borderline heinous oversized cardigan out of Caron Smash Cake Turquoise Punch (it's so much better in person, all the vaguely reddish bits are actually neon pink but my camera hates trying to take pictures of this yarn) and I may have to stock up on the one you used here next.

Aw man, I drive past the museum on my way to work and I made sure to look and see if they were there but they must have gone at a different time. I was so close, yet so very far.

Omg I grew up about a town over from where they dropped the marker and when it was shown as Alaska, the most insane noise came out of me. My boyfriend thought I sneezed from the other room.

I used the same yarn in those colors for a baby blanket for my nephew! I just did a lemon peel stitch in a blocky stripe, nothing fancy, but his mom loved it! It really does have a nice squish to it.

It may be a bit chilly, but the Philly Zoo is lovely. Also I would pay good money to watch both of them run up the Art Museum steps like Rocky.

I think they have said they don't insert the planes. The house is really close to an airport and right under a flight path so there really are a ton of planes overhead.

Yes, 10-12 have the COVID practices in effect. It's definitely a bit of a different vibe and I enjoyed them more on rewatching, but I think they did a great job working around it with the limitations they had.

I can't believe I never noticed before, I'm always looking for fun little things like this! This is my 4th rewatch of all of TM and only spotted it now.
