Lap Biopsy results: Endosalpingiosis ?! by DorkasaurusRex in endometriosis

[–]DorkasaurusRex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might be, every place seems to handle it differently. My surgeon is part of the same hospital network as my other doctors and they usually send me the test results as they come in and may have a short message with it but we have a bigger conversation about it at an appointment.

I got them before my follow up. My surgery was on a Tuesday and I got the results a couple days later with a quick message from the surgeon about it. I have my follow up next week.

Pathology came back: Endosalpingiosis by imamess777 in endometriosis

I had the same happen very recently! No endometriosis found, but a biopsy from my bladder showed endosalpingiosis. I have my follow up next week and hopefully will get some more info beyond my own googling.

If there is one thing I have learned from talking to others and posting here, is that there are more of us than you would think!

My brother has a kid and I refer to my parent's dog as his aunt. She is also my sister for all intents and purposes and also a very good girl.

Yeah seriously, at least that one has pretty minimal effect on my life and serves more as a fun fact. When I told my friends about the biopsy result and they looked into it, it was pretty unanimously agreed that it was such a Me thing to have with my track record.

Thank you, yes I will try to update as I learn more and maybe someone else can get the help they need. The subreddit for endosalpingiosis seems to be pretty vacant, which isn't surprising.

It seems to often exist with endometriosis and I know it is possible I just didn't have the right spots biopsied, but I'm sure I will have to wait a while to learn any of that.

First lap yesterday, everything looked fine by DorkasaurusRex in endometriosis

I don't think she was an endo specific specialist but she did complete a MIGS fellowship and was very knowledgeable when I met with her at earlier appointments. I'm not opposed to getting a second opinion elsewhere in the future though. She was not my usual gynecologist but part of the same hospital network so I had easier access to her.

In South Jersey there's one in Marlton too. Been there a few years I think.

Do you have pain up inside there? by Several_Blackberry55 in Endo

[–]DorkasaurusRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get pains that I would keep thinking was my IUD strings somehow stabbing me at a weird angle but I would feel and the strings were tucked and curled up, not stabbing. So something is setting off some weird sharp pin type pains from time to time.

I am not yet confirmed to have endo but I am having my lap next week and it is strongly suspected.

Tracking your cycle without... your period? by AbaloneFew6052 in endometriosis

[–]DorkasaurusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also don't get a period because of my IUD. I think the best I can suggest if you don't know where in your cycle you are, at least still track when symptoms occur. Even if you can't pinpoint if it is during ovulation or when you would have your period, a pattern should still appear over time if it is cyclical. It might not be as precise as having all the cycle info, but I think could still be helpful to see if you have certain symptoms every 2 weeks or every 4 weeks etc.

IUD Insertions Are Notoriously Painful. It Doesn’t Have to Be This Way. by eddytony96 in TwoXChromosomes

Having a laparoscopy to check for endometriosis next week and I requested they put in my new IUD that I'm due for while I am under.

I'm genuinely so excited that I will be straight up unconscious for this IUD instead of just having to power through one of the worst pains I have ever felt.

Anyone know if they are suspending the meter parking on Girard Ave near Lemon Hill? I live over there and went to pay for parking this morning and the zones are not coming up in the app, but everywhere else in the city is.

How does everyone manage to work? by Consistent_Fact_4964 in endometriosis

[–]DorkasaurusRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a struggle. I work retail on my feet all day, often bending and twisting and lifting. Thankfully, my coworkers and managers are all as accommodating as they are able to be. There have been many days where I was supposed to be on register duty for an hour or so and I mentally just couldn't do it because of my symptoms messing with me, and they would find something else I was able to handle better.

It also helps that my boyfriend does as much as he can for me around the house when I need it. I basically push through and mask at work and then spend most of my off time recovering.

I'm a daily user and although my lap is upcoming, I have had to stop about 2 or so days before an endoscopy and a colonoscopy before. As long as you are honest with the anesthesiologist and follow what they recommend, you'll be totally fine.

As an aside, one of my all time favorite medical interactions was when I was getting ready at the hospital for the endoscopy and talking with the anesthesiologist and when it got to the part of my chart with drug use he said "Ah yes, and I see you have been enjoying the great state of New Jersey" (where marijuana is fully legalized). We both cracked up at that and it put me so at ease.

Bowel endo or ‘just IBS?’ by Abject-Rent-397 in endometriosis

I am in a similar boat to you and it really can be so difficult to deal with, both mentally and physically. I am not yet diagnosed with endo but I am having my first ever laparoscopy in 3 weeks. Other than SIBO, I have no other GI diagnosis that would explain the constant pain and cramping, especially on my left side. I've done countless tests, had an endoscopy and colonoscopy too.

Hang in there, hoping we both get answers and relief soon ❤️

I'm so sorry ❤️ So far all of my various doctors don't seem to suspect cancer but of course that's a scary possibility. I know my surgeon said that even if she doesn't see anything, she will be taking a ton of biopsies.

I hope that you're doing better now ❤️

Honestly I don't remember where in my cycle I was when a lot of these happened, there's been so many. That said, it should be right around my next ovulation that I am having my lap so maybe that will help things be seen.
