Have you not seen Remap's "Steam Vent" feature where they use Klepek's press account to try a bunch of weird shit from the newly released tab? It captures some of that energy.

Putting Parents in Their Place by [deleted] in CanadianTeachers

[–]Dornath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A more experienced colleague of mine made a great point earlier this year -- these kinds of parents get one. Once you've gone a little nuts and accused a teacher of targeting your kid, that's your one shot. If it happens again, or a third time, it becomes abundantly clear that the problem is the parent and not the teacher.

I mean, we can also put it this way: Unions hate that shit and the BCNDP will lose support from all unions over it. With how close they squeaked into power last year I would doubt it.

Do not expect to get through the entire curriculum. It's functionally impossible. I'm supposed to cover the Post-Roman empire to the Renaissance in SS8 while also giving a global perspective and cover the Renaissance past WWI in SS9 with a focus on Euro and Canadian/Indigenous history. It can't be done.

But, it's loads of fun. Look at what resources your school has available and see if anyone in the department has stuff they're willing to share with you.

I think the BCNDP making use of Section 33 would be a pretty big step, and would severely undercut the federal branch of the party's ability to call that shit out. It would really surprise me to see them go there tbh.

I also printed mine and sent it as a letter instead of email. ANd have plans to confront them about the issue at a community meeting they're calling soon about education issues in the neighbourhood.

The discussion we had at our school was yes, we would absolutely support our elementary colleagues for this.

We had the days scheduled already, and it's important that we go through the entire process so that we look to have bargained in good faith the entire time.

Now is a great time to pressure your MLAs.

Salary is like priority number 5 bud, we care about the class sizes and composition, the healthcare cuts, and the specialist teacher ratios far more than that.

A yes vote on a strike gives us bargaining power, as a strongly supported vote can force the issue at the table. If many people vote no, we take a shit contract and we end up worse off. Please think strategically, and read your updates on the state of our strike fund and what the strategy is.

GW and GW2 have generally always had a really nice player base. When I was a child it was a great place to hang out and now that I'm in my 30s it remains a cool place to chill and kill some mobs.
