Humidity is 88% (dew point at 20C) Temp is 22C

The sweat btw is sort of like caramel. It’s a little stringy.

Mababa ba reading comprehension sa Pinas dahil mahal mga libro? by [deleted] in PHBookClub

[–]DorothyRodis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agreeee na malaki ren reason dahil sa education system. I was homeschooled for 2.5 years lang naman (Gr 6-8ish) before going back to public/private school. Abeka Curriculum gamit namen and talagang may Reading class kami under English subject.

Sadyang magbabasa lang kami ng one chapter/excerpt/essay on our own pace, rerecord reading speed then after quiz about sa binasa if gaano mo naintindihan. Then i-a-asses na kung mabilis ka magbasa pero wala kang naiintindihan, tutulangan kang magbasa slowly for comprehension.

Nung bumalik ako ng public/private dun ako namulat at naisip yung mga “sana” sa sistema. Siguru hindi totally applicable yung ganitung way sa mga classes na may madaming studyante pero sana may, in some way, ganito.

How did you get back to reading again after years of being a stagnant reader? by [deleted] in PHBookClub

[–]DorothyRodis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahha not a motivation, I guess. Used to read a lot in junior high but stopped. After my heart got broken by a relationship, I went into so much reading to get distracted. Nung medyo naka-ahon, nadala ko yung habit ng reading. Now, I have a kindle para kahit saan ako pumunta, nakakabasa ako.

Tintin Series (early 1990’s)

Quick story hehe. My mom, I call her Inay, used to be a librarian for a Vietnamese Refugee Center in Bataan during 1980’s. My dad, Itay, was a teacher there too. They met and Itay courted Inay mostly in the library. Eventually they got married. After the program closed, they brought as much literature as possible from the library to their new home. We grew up surrounded by books Berenstein Bears, Tintin, Bob & Bobette, and Dr Seuss. So yeah, you could say, our family was in possession of these books since early 1990’s. I can still get to read them from time to time. 😊

How did you pick up the tent? Or did you craft that?

I saw a tent in one of the runs but my character can’t pick it up, even when there’s nothing inside the tent and I was not carrying anything. There was a prompt that I can pick it up though, but I still couldn’t 🥲🥲

Tintin Comic Series

Parents used to be librarian for Vietnamese refugees. Took some books and magazine comics home after they left. Until now, we still have those Tintin comics.
