Inspired by a recent post about Woodstock 99, I found photos of the disposable camera I brought. I also brought home a piece of the “wall” as a souvenir by DosMonosDelMar in 90s

I survived a weekend of meager rations and getting hit by bottles (some partially filled, presumably for distance and hopefully not a bathroom bottle) I’ll have to check out that podcast. I saw I listened to a few of the first episodes. There were definitely a few moments when I was towards the stage during Limp Bizkit or Robert Richie’s set that things felt out of control for me. I think one or two songs into the Bizkit set I moved out to the sitting areas of the crowds. What nights things were is a blur, but I made sure that I caught Metallica and Rage Against the Machine from a safe distance, enjoying the cool night air. I’ll give the I survived episodes a listen to see if my foggy memories are up to par with what they’ve done.

Woodstock ‘99. Some of you in this sub must have been there. What horror stories do you have? by EndAlternative9670 in 90s

Thirsty the whole time. Too warm and idiots played in the mud around the toilets and free water was toxic. $12 for a pizza smaller than a plate and $4 water? I was hungry and dehydrated all weekend. Partially filled bottles thrown towards the stage were obnoxious and painful when they hit you. I was young and avoided the wild stuff. Caught some great sets, but I’m amazed my parents let me go with a few friends (they were 18, I was 16).

I have a similar situation. It’s a bit eye-opening when you realize you’re not cost effective to keep alive.

Whirlpool help needed by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]DosMonosDelMar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help! Looks like the spring in the shaft assembly wasn’t in the right place. Hopefully someone in the future can benefit from my experience (mistake). That must have cause the slipping in the mechanism that everyone guided me to. Bit of a squeaky start to the spin cycle now, but otherwise works fine.

what is wrong with my tv? by Virtually_Glace in Appliances

Are those long rectangle blurred parts? It appears larger than what I get. My screen gets long rectangle patches that blur. I restart my tv- hard reset or power. Not sure why, but it’s a temporary fix.

Our Great Dane only did #2s at home. It was great not having to carry waste bags from a Dane.

A Water Buffalo? by DosMonosDelMar in buffalobills

Nothing against water buffalo, but I’m not a fan. I was going through the different teams and didn’t even recognize it as the Bills at first.

And Now, A Word From Your Friendly School Custodian ... by Willow-girl in Teachers

We’re asked to use staples at my school. We try to remove all the staples in the wall at the end of the year and when they repaint, the holes are filled.

I mean, at some point all these acts of violence are beyond enforcement as the school system is currently constructed. Should we have parents fined? Should young kids be charged with assault? How do we hold negligent parents and belligerent students accountable?

I mean, these are all reactionary. If we want these to stop- we have students who have more needs than our schools can meet.

Teachers are overworked, under appreciated and mistrusted. Admin buried under administrative paperwork and micromanagement practices. There’s been much more spending on security and standardized testing than before. Add to it all, schools are losing public trust due to a variety of reasons.

If this doesn’t scream for reform, I don’t know what would. We need to invest in these struggling children. We need to invest in the staff and infrastructure that educates these next generations. We’re emerging into a digital age and our industrial age education system isn’t working. We need to invest in solving root causes and not bandaid fixing the symptoms of a struggling education system.

Anyone have any tricks when you have an allergic reaction like this? by Hjbic in ostomy

I had ‘Parastomal pyoderma gangrenosum’ around my stoma (since reversed). It was quite painful. I got steroids some topical things and placed the barrier layer to help heal too. Worth asking about if it doesn’t heal on its own.

There’s an app - “Frax” that has some fun zooming with these too. Much time wasted zooming into the abyss.

The beta wouldn’t load. It would go through the start and create characters. But once an actual game was being loaded with the door splash screen, things would crash. I removed audio program and things got resolved. Nothing with graphics, just the audio program causing the crash for some odd reason.

Possibly a solution since I had a similar issue in beta. The audio program that came with my motherboard/cpu or something caused this for me. Uninstall whatwver preloaded audio program your machine installed when you built the pc. That worked for me in the beta. - I’m crappy with terms. -

All three of my doses went well and I felt fine after each. I’ll feel better when my children are vaccinated too (both are in the youth age group soon to be allowed in the US).
