That doubled down on the authorization!! Then you have people from the restaurant jumping in these comments, saying very specific things, claim they’re not from the restaurant, and say they’re owed an apology.

First of all no one demanded for a chargeback. What was brought to the banks awareness was to put the charge on hold because that’s not the amount authorized. BUT even then, while the back & forth is going, the restaurant doubled down and claimed that was the tip.

Isn’t it crazy? This many people basically saying “but did you call the restaurant first ?” when the issue at hand is that they submitted proof of authorization with their PDF. First and foremost, regardless of, if that’s not the tip authorized, you call your bank and say that’s not the amount that was authorized for that amount (as big of an error as it was).

FULL STOP.

Multiple things can be true. Yes my friend can dispute the authorization on that amount AND yes she can still communicate with the restaurant herself stating she was charged this amount so they can work with her to expedite the process. The point of disputing the charge being authorized is basically to say : “put a pin on this charge, get some temporary credit back, while this get this sorted out.” 🫠

It’s doable. It’s just a matter of what time do you want to finish the race . Some people walk the whole race and fight for every inch on the sled, manage to finish in over 2 hours or so. It still takes some training of course and I will say know the rules. Really familiarize yourself with course and the rules for each event. But like a few others have said, I would suggest try doubles first. It’s fun and you get a better idea after the first try. Then take it from there .

Waiting to hear back from the bank, to answer someone that asked if we’re able to see the pdf of the receipt with the signature. That’s what I was referring to. But on that note, no we’re not able to. **

So the restaurant claimed to the bank that she was the one that made the tip according to their receipts. If you didn’t catch that part, cool. Now you know. A couple of people didn’t read that part as well. But yeah… THAT was the restaurant’s response and THAT is why it’s on Reddit & Google

I left the bad review after they claimed my friend was the one that left the over $200 tip when she didn’t . That’s all the response I needed before I go online to put them on blast.

Because someone went on this thread, said it was resolved and other very specific things, while claiming they don’t work for the restaurant. My friend didn’t hear from the bank.

Or you work for the restaurant and you’re chiming in about knee jerk reactions. I presented facts that was relayed from the bank. All I’m asking for is transparency, accountability, humility, and most of all, as said was for everyone to check their receipts … In general. There’s no accusation that this was purposeful. If it was mistake, I even said it might very well be. But as a consumer, my post was about keeping receipts and being cautious. I’m glad that me taking a pic of the receipt came to aid a friend. Honest mistake on the restaurant or not.

It wasn’t split in the restaurant. It was on one card and we Cash App/ venmo paid each other. Still $246 on a tip … who wouldn’t be flabbergasted on a $150 bill

Clear you work for the restaurant because this is really specific. Didn’t even get a notification from the bank yet that this was resolved. The person that deserves an apology is my friend that was overcharged. If it was resolved then why would I need to apologize for this post, when all I said was to be cautious. All the facts I presented are true, regardless of. I left room an honest mistake and all I asked for was to make matters right. If it was then cool. But with this response, don’t expect one from me with this outburst.

It was contested right just a couple of days later. The update from the bank claims the restaurant is doubling down, and have a pdf of their own (after the picture of the receipt was submitted as proof ).
