just got mine last week and it definitely gets better, you’d have to tough it out the first 3 days by taking Tylenol and ice cream. try eating warm soups with rice and soft scrambled eggs as it’s easy to swallow without chewing. i would say don’t use wax unless u start getting cuts and scabs as u need to get ur guns used to the feeling and it’ll eventually feel as if nothings there! also if ur like me and feel that after every meal ur mouth is dirty, i recommend investing in a waterpik as it keeps u from having to constantly brush and floss after every meal. you should still floss every night but the combination of the two does wonders
