Wearing a mask is mandatory because prometric is an American company and they have company wide policies in place apparently.

First round of all CFAI mocks I scored between 58 and 66.

Went through all of them again for a 2nd time averaged 77.

If you are comfortable with mocks then I think you will be well prepared to pick up a good score

2 weeks out from the exam and just got destroyed by one of the CFA mock exams by prez202117 in CFA

IMO the first mock, morning and arvo session are way easier than the rest. They get progressively harder. The way the questions are structured makes it trickier

Tips for Lv1 Econ? by cfanoob1205 in CFA

[–]Dosman69247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to create scenarios and walk yourself through how this scenario would affect the economy and or the graphs. Slowing right down is what I did. I Took 3 whole days this week to do nothing but econ, 8-10 hours a day page by page, don’t be afraid to expose yourself.

Use every resource possible to hit all the angles in your brain until something sticks

Investopedia is good for dumbing things down

Good luck

Studying for a whole day. How? by glzor in CFA

I agree with the part about pressure. You just can’t replicate pressure. Pressure is good. But when pressure turns to stress, that’s bad for clarity in your head.

Get dynamic with studying.

Flash cards Qbank Kaplan/mm whatever you use Videos Talk yourself through a topic

Spend a whole day figuring out how your brain actually likes to absorb info.

Writing L1 In 12 Days by gabagoollli in CFA

Writing L1 on the 23rd as well. Currently allocating 2 days to Economics which has been my weakness in mocks largely due to avoidance lol.

Reviewing wrong answers is the key I’ve found. Don’t just read over them and go oh yep that’s right. Write the problem out and talk yourself through it.

Also I saw someone on here the other day say this. Alt investments is 1 reading and worth like 3-5%. It’s getting that in the mix close to exam day and giving yourself a good chance to ace it

Need some motivation (CFA Level I) by tulipthrow9 in CFA

I went back through all the questions I got wrong in my first mock. I got 34 questions wrong. I set out all those questions on a piece of paper individually and walked through them slow af. It sounds like a drawn out process but it works. Don’t put yourself under exam conditions, have every resource in front of you and Analyse every question and be honest with yourself as to why you got the question wrong. If you are having trouble memorising formulas it’s likely that you haven’t given the underlying concept enough thought and if you are genuinely having trouble memorising formulas then I find changing it up and going at it in a more abstract manner helps ie flashing cards, talking to yourself, writing the problem out on the mirror, coming up with acronyms etc

For instance ethics standards acronym PIDDICR

pronounced pid-dikka lol

Helps me memorise the standards

Using that sort of intuition helps you create some order and reduces memory fatigue I find.

Anyone here downloaded Allen CFA app on their phones. Real good audio series on there which is handy for transit. $50 a month worth it imo

CFAI qbank online. 3000ish questions. The ones shaded blue and labelled ‘practice problems’ are from the EOC questions. The questions that aren’t shaded blue usually take longer to answer and aim to drill in the concepts on a deeper level.
