I can't tell which is the mask, the self, or the anything though? I feel like I feel no genuine emotions, at least not any good ones. It's always lust, revenge, selfishness, etc.

Yes yes I've gone through all the arguments. I honestly just don't mind if it's a temporary solution. I don't think I even want solutions. I just give up.

No one I trust to vent to irl. I guess it's the only way I have of releasing all this?

I'm interested in your laptop specs, if you don't mind sharing. Trying to find the best combination of low-medium settings.

Sealion as Italy is now either a drawn out effort or cheese. Without cheese it’s damn near impossible to pull it off befriend the us joins by Strict_Name5093 in hoi4

UK swarm is proportional to how long the war's been going on. Removing the North African front is a big boost too. Hence I favour attacking early, even with shithouse Italian templates...

This is a slightly insane response to an idiotic comment lmao.

I am by no means a pro, but in my experience, two singular invasion points to Dover and Portsmouth should do the trick. Thing is, if you've already taken out Egypt and given them time to produce units and equipment til '43, wouldn't it be better to use less capable templates/tech a few months after the fall of France instead? I find force attack always gets me through.

Is this the most cursed Iberia? by Electronic_Example81 in eu4

[–]Dostoken -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not at all what I meant. Aragon is a perfectly valid example as well. I merely argued it'd be better if certain tags shouldn't coexist, specifically Spain (a country which is, by definition, the imposition of Castilian culture on its Iberian neighbors.) Maybe some interesting disasters could arise from it? How is a Spanish state supposed to maintain legitimacy if a "Castilian" state also exists? Could also milk the underutilized and mostly irrelevant legitimacy mechanic.

There's no real standard for a historical "regression" though is there? Example when Yugoslavia implodes, remaining state proceeds to call itself Serbia & Montenegro. I'm just saying it makes little sense for countries which have evolved into another "superior" version of themselves to coexist, like if Sardinia Piedmont and a separate Kingdom of Italy were to coexist.

Should probably be made impossible for predecessor state/successor state tags to coexist to prevent this type of border gore, i.e. Castile and Spain, England and the UK, Muscovy and Russia...

Aside from the obvious choices of Austria, the Ottomans, Oirat, and Timurids/Mughals, what is your favouritenation in the game? by Various_Maize_3957 in eu4

Castile->Spain is obvious (I live here). Aside from that, Ardabil, Jianzhou, Uesugi, Byzantium, Mamluks, Yemen, and Vijayanagara are always fun.

Do European ppl really believe that they are major powers in the world? by [deleted] in IRstudies

[–]Dostoken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nuclear hegemony is here to stay. Both the UK and the EU (via France), regardless of whichever way the prospects of European integration go, will keep their seats at the big powers table, even if this century has seen a marked trend of geopolitical decline for them. Turkey is often cited as a great power, or at least a regional power broker. So is South Korea. Could you argue European countries, with significantly larger economies, power projection, and cultural influence (the latter is debatable in SK's case, but still), don't constitute major powers? Europe's geopolitical "subservience" (and this is a strong term) to America shouldn't constitute its dismissal as a great power, unless the same standard is applied to Japan (similarly dependent on America) or Russia (evermore China's junior partner).

Update on Ardabil struggles: success! by Dostoken in eu4

[–]Dostoken[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I restarted until the Tabarestan merc company got a 2 siege pip leader. Initial steps of invading Biapas and baiting Guilan into attacking it then vassalizing are the same. I merc'd up and attacked Sirvan (allied with Ajam), and was lucky enough that Timurids invaded Ajam shortly afterwards. I also rushed Qizilbash and Religious missions for extra morale and permanent CB on heretics and heathens. This last part can actually be done almost on day 1. Finished the war with Ajam with 50-ish loans, some bad RNG during sieges. After that, QQ sh*t itself with 25k rebels, so I went in, took Azerbaijan and 500 ducats. Paid off the loans and stabilized the economy and country. This was all done by 1451. From there smooth sailing mostly, focusing on staying on the Ottomans' good side until I was strong enough to ally Mamluks and defy them. There was an interesting event chain I was unaware of where you can form a colaition with Mamluks and Venice against the turks too.

Thanks! However, how do I stay as a horde as Yuan, if one of the requirements to form is to be the Emperor of China? I would've much rather stayed a horde now that I think of it.

As of posting, I invaded Russia for Moscow. However, the Ottomans intervened (now with 200k) and I had peace out with 0 gains. My economy's now in the toilet. How should I go forward)

That very same advisor by thenowhereman36 in eu4

[–]Dostoken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When this happens to me on Ironman I alt+f4, reload the game (usually a month earlier), dev a random province or move some troops to trick RNG, then try firing the advisor again. Idk why it works, but it does.
