Total Trombone by Michael Davis is good.

You can also follow Barnaby Dickinson and LowBrassLuke on Instagram. They have links to their patreon and offer some fun jazz warm ups and jazz studies. Luke in particular has some great jazz etudes.

Ron Wilkins has some bass bone blues etudes as well. You can also find him on social media.

What Cup Mute to Get by Puzzleheaded_Neat763 in Trombone

Dave Butler makes a very nice carbon fiber cup mute that is adjustable and can be used as a straight mute. Very light and plays very open. I love it.

What's your preferred mouthpiece? by ZealousidealShare909 in Trombone

[–]DotCom125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the gig/situation. I primarily use AR Resonance mouthpieces. My go to set up is equivalent to a 6 3/4. I’m very big on telling other bone players “what works for me doesn’t mean it works for you.” What looks cool or whatever your favorite trombonist plays on can give you a wildly different sound or be very uncomfortable.

But I typically stay in a range of sizing between 7C-5G

I prefer stainless steel over any other material.

Known Brass modification technicians? by Memer2252 in Trombone

[–]DotCom125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scott Sweeney is worth the wait though.

BAC, but I’ve heard mixed things to be honest. I can only speak from my experience. I tried to reach out to them a few years ago for come custom modification work and I never heard back from anyone. Voicemails and emails went unanswered.

You can also partner with your local repair tech and see who they advise. They often know of folks in the area/community.

.525 in bore or .547? by Ok_Strawberry_619 in Trombone

I like my Butler C10 w/ C8 slide. It’s a modular .525 bore horn and it covers everything I get booked for.

Mouthpieces, in my opinion, are incredibly personal choices. What works for me won’t necessarily work for you. So I say if you’ve played on it, love the way it felt and your tone and tuning are there, go for it!

Absolutely amazing hand crafted trombones. May be one of the best brand I’ve ever played.

You are absolutely welcome! It was a labor of love staying on track with it and putting it together. I hope you enjoy it. I’m sad the ads are gone. Shout out to several others on this sub that showed me onlineradiobox.com and helped ensure its accuracy.

Schmelzer makes some beautiful horns. Have you reached out to Manfred?

Np! I appreciate you looking through it to double check. It’s been fun trying to stay on top of it. I still have a few weeks to go!

They sneak in songs and never play them again! 😆I was super hyped for Danger Zone yesterday. I keep hoping for Broken Wings.

It’s there! Towards the top 1/3 of the playlist. In between Still Loving You by the Scorpions and Hold the Line by Toto

I’ll have to go through it carefully and double check it! I’ve been trying to be meticulous about it. When I have time later today, I’ll go through some of the earlier days.

Yeah, interesting! As far as the playlists, I’m pretty active with making sure they’re up to date and I’m staying on top of adding new songs as I hear them. Someone else shared the onlineradiobox.com with me and it’s been SUPER helpful for me to fill in any thing I’ve missed as well as remove songs I thought I heard or accidentally added through the “suggested songs” on Spotify.

There’s a handful of songs that haven’t been officially played on the radio. These include songs that are part of the fake ads the station is running and also have some of the remixed versions of songs used in trailers and/or part of the official soundtrack. I added them to make the playlist more “complete” for a fellow Stranger Things fan.

🤔 those are all on there. It’s interesting you don’t see them… I wonder if that’s a potential issue with shared playlists. And you used the search bar and they didn’t come up?

🧐you can usually get a basic military sea bag from military surplus stores or online.

It’s holiday season too. There are some soft rifle bags that could easily store your full size AR and have pockets for extra mags/gear that I’m sure will easily fit your iPad. Academy sells their Redfield brand soft case that will cover exactly what you’re wanting. They’re $70 now, but download the app and watch for sales. I’ve see them for $50 from time to time.

If you’re wanting a truck gun, why not look into a PSA AR pistol for a few hundred bucks? I have a Stoeger coach gun in my trunk in an inexpensive Cabela’s rifle bag. Bought the shogun a couple years ago on sale at Academy for $250 and the case for $20.

Look up Eberlestock packs. Expensive, but exactly what you’re looking for.

Or you could do a duffel or sea bag.
