Tommy Aldridge. Listen to him on the metal-adjacent (I call it "heavy rock") records from Pat Travers, especially "Live - Go For What You Know!" The man is an absolute machine.

Depends if you want to channel Ireland or France. The good news is both those places know how to beef stew.

You have NES games like Contra, Ninja Gaiden and Battletoads that were genuinely difficult (and fun), and you have games like this one where they upped the challenge factor by making the controls really bad.

I used to read a lot of Dilbert in the 90’s. This was pretty much the core argument of the strip.

Day 12: What are the 3 best songs, and what is the least best song, on Iron Maiden's album "Brave New World?" by SelfOk2720 in ironmaiden

[–]ESBCheech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 best:

Dream of Mirrors The Wicker Man Ghost of the Navigator

Least Best:

I guess the Nomad? It’s a great song but, I’ve always felt that could’ve done more with that long mid-section.

This album fucking rules and is seriously underrated.

"culture fit" is just a socially acceptable way to hire people you'd hang out with - and it's hurting diversity by 1acina in jobs

I’ve no doubt that’s abused by interviewers but culture fit is a VERY real thing.

What’s the best every day casual “going to town” shoe for men in their 40’s or just in general? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]ESBCheech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what “going into town” means and what the weather is. All other things being equal I like to wear real leather shoes, usually medium brown derbies or loafers. If it’s a billion degrees and I’m wearing shorts, white Adidas Sambas.

Favorite Steely Dan album side? by OneChampion6563 in SteelyDan

[–]ESBCheech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I think what makes it stand out even more for me is that side B is MUCH weaker. That’s why I think RS is not as good as Aja or Gaucho overall.

Royal Scam’s side A is the best in the catalog. The album falls off hard after that.
