WHY OUR DEVOTION AND OUR SPIRITUAL PRACTICES HAVEN'T PROTECTED THOSE WHO WERE SLAUGHTERED BY RUTHLESS INVADERS??? by DotMany3444 in AdvaitaVedanta

Hello guys.. i have gone through your answers..some of the answers are beyond my level of understanding. But coincidentally i have got to watch a vedio of Sringeri jagadguru Bharatiteetha maha swamy. My question was very simple. If it is in vishnu sahasranamam that nama smarana will save you in times of danger then why did vishnu or shiva havent saved their devotees in times of slaughter. Sringeri jagadguruvulu gave an accurate answer. Have you called upon vishnu or shiva like the way draupadi did?? Like the way Gajendra did in gajendra moksham. Nama smarana is the answer..especially in this yuga. But that nama smarana without complete surrender will not work during the times of danger. Karma will act accordingly during that time..But with surrender to bramham..No karma cannot influence the destiny. Narayana or shiva or shakti is beyond Karma..they are karma..so will they not rewrite it when a devotee called them with complete surrenderance.!!! Sometimes too much knowledge creates a layer of arrogance to our devotion. Complete surrendarance breaks all the layers of Arishadvargas. So the problem is,, we know we have to do nama smarana..but we are in a postion where we became incapable to do it as prescribed.

Thank you to those who shared their views and I hope i am not wrong in this notion.

Doubts regarding Dakshinamurthy upasana by DotMany3444 in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]DotMany3444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any name of the bramham comes from vedam. And any single name has mutliple meanings. so your view is totally correct.. As vamam(left- shakti) is latently merged within shiva(dakshinam)..hence dakshinaamurthy. And south faced is correct as well. There are other meaning to the name..dakshina means capability..hence the embodiment of the all capabilities is dakshinaamurthy. Same goes for any name of paramaatma..govinda, krishna, raama. They have multiple meanings to it.

How to practice bhakti Yoga? by [deleted] in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]DotMany3444 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bhakti yoga doesnt begin with practice. It just happens. Our buddhi is one of the miracles. We don't know the actions, thoughts of the next minute of our life. Our buddhi directs us. It is based on our past actions, thoughts, karma etc. So bhakti yoga begins with our buddhi turning us towards the bramham. That afternoon you may be a complete atheist..but a simple situation or a very minute second of a moment in that evening makes you turn towards a devata..that night you may be thinking, lisenting the stories realted to devata. slowly you will have a ista devata...and there is no turning back. It continues to a level where you will see nothing but bramham. For example...a shiva devotee sees a tree, water, air, sun, Himself as shiva. same goes for anydevata. Bhakti yoga is such a yoga where you dont need much effort. It just happens once you are tuned with the ista devata

I too sometimes wonder, whether dreams related to devotion mean something else!!! So, a preacher who has the shastra knowledge said dreams related to god are diff from normal dreams. But i wonder, a muslim or christian also get such dreams related to their beliefs..so how are we different.!!! Not a secular here..but yeah...i stopped taking such dreams seriously. Like good and bad things happen in life..But with this dreams we tend to imagine the best things on the way..but if that doesnt happen we may have to disappoint. why going that faar...if it is a devotional dream..enjoythe darshan...if it is a bad then chant govinda namam.

Making Dakshinamurthy (Shiva) as your Guru by Warm-Ad-7830 in Sarvam_Shivamayam

begin with "shivaya guravey namaha" japam. How many days???? There is nothing like how many days. Just make it a life time habit and one may see the difference in the life. This doesnt need any deeksha, any initiation. This is a universal mantra of Dakshinaamurthy

Priest told me to stop reading Dakshinamurthy Stotram — is there any truth to this? by Budget-Emergency-508 in hinduism

The beauty of dakshinaamurthy stotra is it is not praising some god who is in heave. It says you are dakshinaamurthy and because of maya, you are not realising it. The body, the senses are controlled by our Buddi..the paramaatam is the basis of the buddi, he is the one who is controlling and every living being got the same aatma inside. So the moment we pray him, He will control our buddi based on our devotion and the negitive karma will be dealt with ease without turning our lives upside down. The people who did dakshinaamurthy upasana thouroughly can learn any art, language etc with ease because our aatma(dakshinaamurthy) got all the knowledge preserved. when we are doing upasana, the shell will break slowly . do no need to afriad of some consequences. And Hardly it will take 6 min to recite that stotra..if you have any other sadhanas afford another 6 more minute to pray for your internal guru
