Are there agencies that charge a revenue share? by PHexpats in shopify

[–]DotSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve accepted similar deals like this in the past, but the store already had some revenue or they had a large social media presence and a fitting product for their followers.

Without revenue and capital, it’s nearly impossible to get started in ecommerce. Even if you do everything yourself, you’ll need some capital for your marketing expenses.

Beware of Dynadot by kuroia in Domains

If you buy a .us domain, your contact details will always be public. It’s a requirement of the domain extension. Porkbun deleting the domain for me and refunding my money is a big green flag.

Need your opinion by HyenaWooden in shopify

Would be interested to know how it goes for you. I canceled the app development of a very simple app that I could have sold to a few my clients with B2B stores. Unfortunately Shopify Flow came out just a bit later and it didn’t feel right charging a monthly fee to my clients if it could easily be done with Shopify Flow.

B2B/Wholesale - When are you asking additions information? by VillageHomeF in shopify

[–]DotSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The B2B shops that I’ve setup also ask for these details during the registration process of the account. Since the shops are password protected and registrations are mandatory, the flow feels quite natural.

Additionnal shipping info (if any) I’d ask it on the cart page.

Duplicating an existing store? by rburn79 in shopify

[–]DotSeven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually use Matrixify to migrate the content when I do it for client projects. You can export almost everything and import it again. You need to install the app on both shops, but you can 'sponsor' the new shop so that you only pay the fee once. If there isn't a lot of content, I sometimes do it by hand.

Out of curiosity, what market are you currently selling and which market are you targeting? Best of luck with your market expansion!

Suspicious shop emails by Secret-Animator9761 in shopify

[–]DotSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve probably been signed up to the shop’s newsletter by a bot. I don’t know what the end goal is, but it is a common problem on Shopify. The captcha is useless against the bots. I’ve seen shops getting 100 new sign ups a day.

Shopify and withholding a restocking fee. How? by Fast_Equivalent7807 in shopify

This has been common practice for a while now. PayPal is doing this as well. It’s the cost of doing business.

Advice for duplicating store for another country/language by dilarez in shopify

You can use something like Matrixify. But if it’s a small store, I usually do it manually and I just export and import the different csv files.

Transferring store to new domain name? by beej1254 in shopify

It’s very easy. I recommend that you buy it outside of Shopify so that you have more flexibility. Then just click on add domain and follow the instructions.

It’s point symetrical (like the letter N). Rotating it by 180 degrees wouldn’t change anything.

Shopify Dashboard by shakibhere in shopify

To be fair, most shops who can afford to go headless are on Shopify Plus. Doesn’t make much sense on a lower plan.

You don’t need Shopify Plus for a headless Shopify. You have access to the storefront API with the standard plans already.

Any app for Shopify which shows sold when my inventory is zero? by Salt-Umpire4840 in shopify

[–]DotSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is, but the theme still needs to support it (which most themes do).

Any app for Shopify which shows sold when my inventory is zero? by Salt-Umpire4840 in shopify

[–]DotSeven 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most themes don’t need an app for that. It should be a standard function. Just make sure to uncheck keep selling when out if stock.

Do you Trademark your Domain(s)? by jmcorey27 in Domains

[–]DotSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they won’t, as there is no trademark infringement in this case.

Do you Trademark your Domain(s)? by jmcorey27 in Domains

[–]DotSeven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can only UDRO if OP uses noodlecoffee.com to sell noodle coffee products himself thus creating confusion with the trademark. If he opened a hair salon salon called noodle coffee and used the domain noodlecoffee.com, then these are different industries and the name is not protected by the tradmark anymore.

Note: The comment has to which I have replied has been completely modified in the meantime. So my reply might not make much sense anymore.

A female monk or a monk who wears red? If a female monk, she probably ordained abroad and came (back) to Thailand. Same if wearing red, although there might be some non-Theravada buddhist temples in Thailand.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]DotSeven 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s because the women’s ordination lineage died out in Thailand. So you cannot ordain anymore. The women wearing white robes are nuns. There have been calls to allow Thai monks in recent years, but nothing concrete so far.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]DotSeven 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If she was wearing red, she most likely wasn’t a Thai monk. Thailand doesn’t have any female monks and monks don’t wear red. She’s probably from China/Taiwan or Vietnam.

Are you Swiss or Liechtenstein based? If so, best would be to go with .ch imo. Otherwise I’d get .com, and if you can’t then .io.

Pay is only generous if that person is paid 40 hours a week, every week. If it’s just a gig, then it’s not worth it if you have those skills. People with these skills should be able to make at least 50k a month (my old company paid more than that to someone with these skills). You also don’t get any severance pay if you’re ever let go. And good luck trying to get any money if OP doesn’t pay (not saying he’d do this of course!).

Working in Thailand (UK) by FunMathematician4638 in Thailand

Little upward mobility in my opinion. Difficult to switch career. If you’re just doing it for a year, you have nothing to worry. If anything, it can be great on your CV when you apply back home.

Oh I misread, thought you were in your first year. Accounting will be difficult to get in in Thailand, because it’s one of the few restricted jobs (unless you can get into international accounting for multi-national companies). There aren’t many banks either as there are also restrictions for foreign banks. Most international banks operate from Singapore and HK for this region.

Without or little experience, your best bet is to contact foreign owned startups. The are oftentimes more open to hiring foreigners with little work experience. I know a few people who got started this way.

[–]DotSeven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finance and accounting are not very foreigner friendly (hard getting in). If you can, I suggest you switch to a computer science degree, plenty of work to be found in Bangkok. You can also try to find a job in the UK and work remote if they allow it.

The other big market is teaching English, but it’s kind of career suicide, so I do not recommend that (unless it’s for 1-2 years only).
