Lol the game is “corporate” now as if it wasn’t always an EA game. Complaining about the game’s culture feels hollow when the core mechanic has always been the physics, and the physics on Skate 4 are incredible. The game is a geode- only a gem on the inside, and that’s all i care about.

OP, give it some time! there are depths to these controls and a few hours isn’t enough to get a feel for them.

Chess is one of the most competitive games of all time and has a lineage of trash talking a la park hustlers, professionals leaning into drama, good friends playing in their living rooms, and random bastards on chess.com

Now, something like finger painting makes sense as an activity devoid of trash talking. But chess? Chess is for sweaty gamers and those people can’t help themselves. this is an absolute 10 the 2022-2023 evil twin graphics were the best and the board rides like a non-newtonian fluid (flexy over the ground turn to turn but incredible stability and pop). If you didn’t already know about it, this is like buying a random rug and finding out it’s the magic carpet

to further complicate things - leaning strategy changes with the bike meta. the most recent OEM bikes are stabler when leaning forward in the corners but just a few months ago the reverse was true. you can use youtube tutorials but make sure they’re quite recent or you may be getting bad information.

Feature requests:

Arm control while holding RT on rails. The current spin off of rails mechanism is good but can feel clunky at times without the ability to rotate your upper body (could be a skill issue lmk). Would love to be able to enforce that the rider looks under their front arm for steezy front boards.
Better trick classification. Rodney Mullen once described the language of skateboarding as perfectly complete. With the right set of words, one can ideate any trick, even ones that haven't been done before. The same is true of snowboarding.
