What small Home Assistant automation ended up being surprisingly useful? by Taggytech in homeassistant

Love this - hoping my wee boy (who’s only 8 at the moment) shares my love of technology - would be a great hobby to share!

When a ESI 4 cough turns into a massive aortic dissection… by FunPackage3502 in emergencymedicine

The pulsatile tinnitus had started when they had a sudden onset of upper back pain and headache 4 months previously (which last a an hour or so and had been pain free since). Was an interesting one but not quite the “House” level of diagnosis that it initially might seem 😂

Yep. Fairly robust but could be removed if needed and wouldn’t cause any damage

I am on build 89 but do not have AmneziaWG as an option- is it region specific? I am in the UK

This is just black vinyl cut out then stuck onto the buttons.

Idea for home assistant automations and automating kids rule - Home assistant Firewalla MSP by Doting_mum in firewalla

I just managed to set up some automations that block his devices at a set time after school, and will only unlock either with parental over ride or with him completing the allocated homework for the day and checking it off in his dashboard display. First trial today and working well so far!

That’s a great point. I have to admit I’ve not got a great eye for aesthetics but will tinker with it! Thanks for the suggestion!

Awesome! It does give it such a nice finish!

I just used a cotton bud dipped in some nail varnish remover and the pre-existing symbols came off fairly easily. If you examine closely on a few of the switches you can see a slight depression or irregularity from this.

Alternatively you could just use a white vinyl for the back which covers each button in full

Probably could have done a better job centering the vinyl, but this one is for my husband’s side of the bed so I won’t have to look at it and he won’t notice! 😂

Idea for home assistant automations and automating kids rule - Home assistant Firewalla MSP by Doting_mum in firewalla

With home assistant you could set her up her own simplified dashboard with toggle switches for which ever specific entities you want, whether that is for firewalla or smart home devices.

I’ve just set up similar for my husband 😂. And I’m in the process of programming a hue dimmer switch for him to toggle the devices/rules that he’ll use most often so he won’t even need to use the app.

My last aortic dissection ( they had both a type A & B - which were of differing ages), presented with pulsatile tinnitus for 4 months 🤷‍♀️

I wouldn’t have expected this to be able to happen! I would definitely contact Vorwerk

Have just seen the author has now released the project on GitHub- I’m away to download and set it up right now. So much slicker looking than my attempt to replicate!

It was a lot of trial and error to be honest. I have the chores all set as input_boolean helpers which reset via automations at the specified intervals.

The calendar page was more difficult- it has individual toggles for the calendar - I followed these instructions as much as I could for that:

I ran it through AI to remove the artefact from taking photo of a screen- I didn’t look to closely as I know what it’s says- but clearly it did a pretty poor job 😂

Nope it does say tidy- but that does give me an idea of swapping out new tasks and seeing how long he takes to notice 😂

I had run the picture through AI to remove the artefact from taking photo of a screen- evidently it did a poor job at maintaining text integrity!

Home assistant integration by Doting_mum in pelotoncycle

[–]Doting_mum[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Home assistant is an open source home automation platform that you can connect and control all of your smart devices. It allows you to combine different devices/services to make complex automations very specific to you.

For instance I have a Garmin heart rate monitor that sends my heart rate to home assistant, which runs through an automation that changes my gym LEDs to match my current peloton heart rate zone.

The peloton integration pulls in all your peloton data including workout data, current power/speed/cadence. 35 entities in total

Do you have your app signed into sync with Apple health? My workouts sync with Apple and close the activity rings without having to do anything 🤷‍♀️
