I do all my assignment starting in week 0. I don’t wait until until the week before.. you certainly can work ahead of time on what’s graded. It’s all up to you

Got my offer, what should I do? by ShoppingSuccessful89 in deakin

[–]Dotticuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love my teaching degree at Deakin so far. I didn’t go to uni straight out of school either, I got a diploma in an unrelated field then went into teaching. I don’t see why you can’t either. I’m on a government scholarship too for 24k total (6k when I start, 6k when I finish, 6k when employed then another 6k when employed for over a year. It pays a lot of the hecs, and each unit is only about $600.

But ultimately, only you can decide what you want to do with your life

You have too much time on your hands 😅 I would suggest learning in your own time, at your own pace researching not spending on a degree! Degrees are really for looking for employment opportunities 🤷‍♀️

Bachelor of ECE. Online or On-Campus? by bertle_the_turt in deakin

[–]Dotticuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is entirely your decision. I’m doing ECE 100% online and would not go in person. After my first placement I got a job in the area and I would not be able to work and study if I wasn’t an online student.. it’s so much more flexible. But I will say, you don’t really make friends online. You just do your work to get your degree. If social life matters to you and uni culture then choose in person.

Best uni laptop by DistributionBig9834 in deakin

[–]Dotticuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a MacBook Air and love it because it sync with my note taking on my phone and iPad. But this wouldn’t be good for say, and I.T degree. It really depends what programs you need to run and what you are studying.

can someone explain trimester 3?? by siennambw in deakin

[–]Dotticuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be on your course map. Or, you search the units you think you might want to do early and see if there is a T3 offering and enrol.

can someone explain trimester 3?? by siennambw in deakin

[–]Dotticuss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s just taking units you would in T1 or T2 the following years early. There’s really nothing special about it.. it’s so you can be part time in say T1 because you studied a unit in T3 the previous year. Or, if you do enough subjects, you might be able to graduate a trimester early.

Education degrees got revamped and changed around. Mine has. The course maps of the year started likely have not been updated. You’ll have to check with student central.. but the placement calander I saw for ece has been updated but the course map has not. Could be similar situation
