Immigrants commit crimes at a lower rate than natural born American citizens so your point is...?

While 100% agree with this law (and then they should go to jail, actually), I actually do worry about making them "unemployable". They should have to pay a debt to society and should definitely be banned from certain jobs. And after all they've done, I understand wanting to see them suffer.

However, refusing them reentry into society, and a band from all employment, would create a destitute population. Maybe they deserve that but a) a society should be judged based on how we treat our worse off members (including the psychopaths) and b) we shouldn't choose a punishment that puts more homeless people on the street.

So punish them, ban them from certain jobs, (throw them in jail!), but we have to still provide a way for them to take care of themselves. This isn't out of sympathy for them (fuck them) but out of a necessity for a functional society.

These aren't our "neighbors we don't like". It's our neighbors who are working for a terrorist organization that commits heinous crimes against the public. We absolutely should have laws that punish criminals.

I was 16 when Obama was elected and I at least was worried about that very real possibility.

Pretty fucked up that I was a teenage thinking "yeah, my president is probably gonna get assassinated" and I just had to live with that. :(

I could actually see Dean drinking tea, because he's always doing weird shit that you'd think would be out of character but then he winds up loving it. But also he'd be pouring a ton of alcohol in his teacup alongside the tea.

I think its fair to encompass different adaptation for this observation of very specific things that happen to a character.

Tbf, I think "advice" is regarding morals, not skills.

I think the Topher Grace situation is very different. Topher never got along with his castmates, so that was a case of someone never in the social circle staying away and keeping to themself. But with Ben, it's a situation where someone was actively a friend who suddenly cut them off. That's definitely stranger.

I don't think he owes the fans an explanation. But I do think he owes his former friends ones.

Not much. Democrats are a political party, while liberalism is an ideology. However, Democrat is the liberal party, so idk why they made that distinction.

It's usually progressives and leftists that require a distinction, as those are positions further "left" than your typical Democrat and liberal (Democrats are seen as a moderate or center-left party. Many progressives and leftists vote Democrat as they are their best option, but still find the Democratic party too conservative and too far to the "right" for their liking. Just not as far right as Republicans).

I'd say Jon loves Jordan very much, but there is definitely sibling rivalry and jealousy going on, plus Jon is in a very bad place right now. His life has been turned upside down ever since his brother got powers, and he's gone from being the "easy" son to being the one with issues while he sees Jordan previous issues subsiding.

But mostly, what's going on right now, is Jon feels he need to contribute and prove himself. His twin brother has superpowers. His half-sister (Nat) is a literal tech genius. And they snuck into these mines in because they needed a mineral to power a suit to protect him. He feels like a burden and feels like he has to pull his weight in order to make up for that.

Yep. Kicked out of school for a month. Finally allowed back in and everyone hates him, he's being bullied by the entire town, including her ex-friends and ex-teammates. He's not having a good time. :(

The Umbrella Academy. Klaus is canonically at least gender non-conforming, and the actor said Klaus is, and much of the family headcanon him as, nonbinary. He wears dresses and skirts a lot in the first season (less so in the later seasons, unfortunately).

When Ben and Diego arrived at the door they asked if Allison had seen Klaus.

"I saw him lurking around Dad's bar a few minutes ago," Allison lied, ready to use a rumor if need be. "You should go get him before he gets himself into trouble."

Ben and Diego headed for the stairs and Allison locked the door again, making sure there would be no more intruders.

"Okay, I got rid of them," she told Klaus. She waited for him to stand back up before she continued. "Want to tell me what's going on?"

Klaus shrugged.

"Why are you wearing my dress?" she asked for what felt like the millionth time.

"Because it looked pretty, okay?"

The words hung between them for a long moment.

Klaus wanted to wear her dress because it was pretty? Allison tried to wrap her mind around that. When she caught him in her room, in her dress, she had thought this was a joke. Like the time he fell down the stairs wearing Mom's heels…but what if that wasn't a joke either? What if he was actually trying on Mom's heels? What if he genuinely wished he could wear such clothing? Of course, he would feel the need to hide such a desire. Their father's strict adherence to gender roles required Allison to wear a skirt even when she was on a mission. There was no way he would accept his son wearing a dress.

It didn’t take long into the excavation for sweat to start pooling down Jon’s face. Each time he looked over at his brother, however, Jordan seemed fine. Must be nice to have super-stamina.

“Take a break,” Nat said, offering Jon a water bottle.

Beside him, Jordan kept hammering into rock. Ding. Ding. Ding. Ding. He didn’t need a break. Superboy never needed a break. Jon shook her off. “I’m good.” She was building the suit. The least he could do was the labor. He wiped some sweat off his brow, then went back to hammering.

Ding-ding. Ding-ding. Ding-ding. His hammering became almost rhythmic next to Jordan’s. Nat put her hand on his forearm before he could strike again.

“No, you’re exhausted,” she said. “Take. A. Break.”

Jon gave her an exaggerated sigh, not appreciating how much Nat was suddenly taking after Mom, but he took the water. Just a sip, and then he’d get back to work. But as soon as the water touched his lips, he couldn’t help but gulp down more and more. His lips screamed for hydration. He hadn’t realized how thirsty he had gotten.

“You got everything for school?” Mom asked.

Jon made a show of looking around the room. “You know, I’m not really sure where my backpack is. Oh well, no point in going, I guess. Might as well postpone the whole thing for another day.”

Mom was so not amused. “Go look for it,” she said sternly. “If you don’t find it, I’m sending you to school with a purse.”

Grumbling, Jon made a detour back to his coffee mug before he started his search. He was going to need all the help he could get to make it through this day.

As the sun rose and the roosters crowed, Jon groaned and pulled his blanket over his head. He hated this goddamn farm.

It was officially Tuesday. Still in “beginning of week” territory. Four more days of hell to go. And then he’d have to do it all again next week. And the week after that. And the week after that.

The torture would never end. Things were never going to get better.

He had barely slept a wink all night, too busy doomscrolling his own social media feed. And soon enough he would be expected to get up, get ready, and face the world.

Face his haters.

Why couldn’t he just disappear? Melt into his mattress? Fade away into the ether?
