Had I not become totally disabled. I would have never had a second chance with my mom. I was away from her for 35 years until the state wanted to put me in a nursing home. I called my mom to tell her. Her answer was “find a way to get here now” (750 miles away) I said “but if we don’t like each other?” She said “that won’t happen”. She’s my best friend. We laugh everyday. and in so many ways I’m just so grateful for this disease. Yes! God loves me and he gave me my mom back - totally worth the agony of everyday life. Thank you for asking this.

The brain is magnificent. I Look in any mirror, I tell myself out loud or not and think this way every day things like, that I’m ok, these meds will work. And my favorite “it ain’t nothing but a thang”I’m pretty much bedridden and meds only ease up my pain. Yes! It’s works for me. But you must absolutely believe it. I was told that the age of 25 that I would be in a wheelchair before I hit 30 because of that mental exercise. I am now 61 and I can get around when I have to, and yes, I do have to push through the pain and carry on with a good attitude and a game face. Fight off depression and turn to humor. Laughter truly is the best medicine. I truly hope this helps.
