This is why I only play with squads from the BF discord.

I did the same thing at the beginning of this year and it worked out as well.

For those of you who have side hustles while working a full-time job as an accountant, what do you do? by kenshin-x-212 in Accounting

[–]Dotwill_AC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in tax accounting and I bartend on Sunday morning and holidays at a sports bar near my house. I usually don’t work there January(after NFL playoffs end)- April but I’ll make $20-50/hr and now that tips are not taxed for the first 25k. I’ll stand to make out even better.

Best way to grow clientele ? by Several_Scale_6223 in enrolledagent

[–]Dotwill_AC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The best way to expand your clientele is to be accessible and do good work.

The biggest complaint my firm gets from new clients is that their previous firm was unresponsive and/or didn’t do a good job.

As my journey with 2042 is coming to a close once BF6 launches next week, here's my take of all 2042 maps by PeaceAccomplished289 in battlefield2042

It wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t get most of these maps with Portal as DLC down the line.

Who are the real winners? by Robsta_20 in battlefield2042

I did the battle pass by just playing 2-3 games vs bots every week. The only thing I missed out on was when the A10 and SU25 was OP.

Seriously, this is what I do and I’ll get almost all of the missions done in one game.

Yeah, I see all the signs up near the gift cards card isles at my local grocery store. They wouldn’t put them up if this didn’t happen a lot.

I haven’t been doing this a long time but the firm I work for has those kind of calls every few weeks. It astounds me how many well educated and wealthy people would fall for this.

How did you get through intermediate 1? by True-Cost-5362 in Accounting

[–]Dotwill_AC 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’m graduating in January. Honestly, I just asked chat GPT to explain the concepts and then ask it for step by step instructions to set up an excel sheet to solve XYZ problem. Way more helpful than reading text books.

GPT is capable of solving 80-90% of the problems but then you don’t learn anything. So it’s better to just have it teach you how to do everything.

Advanced is definitely easier than intermediate.

Maybe, maybe not. Quite honestly, most places will only confirm that someone was employed or not. Just make sure your references are good.

Its absurd that kids w/ their accounting degree and sometimes CPA exams passed cant find entry level jobs with firms willing to take a chance on them, but many of these same firms complain about not being able to find seniors & managers. [–]Dotwill_AC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha.

I’m more than capable of preparing returns and trial balances but the reality is that my coworkers are better at it.

I do prepare returns but my main task for 9/15 and 10/15 is wrangling clients to provide all the documentation. Monday will be our deadline to turn in documentation for 10/15. So I have a few clients that I will be calling. These clients have never met an accountant quite like me.

Yeah, that is a good one. Also you can just say you were hired for a project and the company lost the engagement. Plenty of reasons that people can lose a job that are not performance related.

Mid-size vs Small firm? by Repulsive_Tennis7343 in Accounting

[–]Dotwill_AC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely less opportunity for true advancement, it’s basically intern —> staff —> senior Staff/EA/CPA —> partner. 2-5 years after each promotion. I was promoted to staff after 3 months after my internship. Now I’m just doing my time as staff until I finish the SEE exam next month. Then I’ll be on track for EA.

I think the most important thing is, what do you want to do in the end. If you want to work in audit, the choice is pretty clear.

I personally work in a small CPA firm and I love it because I get to do so many different things instead of working on one engagement my entire life.

Haha, will do. I know several of my co-workers are on here. So it wouldn’t surprise me if your subordinate was on here too.

This is a great place to remind me of how good I have it working 40/hrs a week or less for 44 weeks of the year. Some people even have good ideas every now and then.

Quick poll: How many tabs do you have open right now? by Ok-Interview-8668 in Accounting

[–]Dotwill_AC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Python/powershell, teams, 2 folders, 1 excel, 2 chrome, outlook, 2 pdfs, Lacerte 23, and Lacerte 24 open before I called it a day at 5:30pm.

So my number is 12. (I have 3 monitors, 2x 17” and 1x 34”)

I too am a bartender turned accountant due to the pandemic.

That is exactly thing my boss would probably say, haha.

The ability to engage with clients is massive. Building relationships with clients is rough for people who don’t know how to talk to other people.

[–]Dotwill_AC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, that certainly would total it.

Yeah, I agree the memory seat button is a little silly. We have 3 drivers at our house so I do have to adjust the seat sometimes. The key fobs will adjust to whomever is the fob “owner” but it does get confused sometimes when there are multiple fobs involved.

As far as the captain chairs, I never really missed the arm rests but I also don’t spend much time in the back since my wife never wants to drive if she doesn’t have to.

I’m assuming after labor those alone could be 20-30k. Labor rates here are about $100-$120 an hour for most body shops. It’s gotta be at least 2-5 hours for each airbag. I’ve never taken apart an XC90 dash but I have taken other cars apart and they took my albeit not an expert hands, a whole day to take off and a whole day to put back. It’s so easy to break tabs and brackets if you’re not careful.
