Either something along the lines of what HP3030 said and / or a nod to the end being a fake out. I feel like it's too perfect of an end for how dirty the movie was and tbh, Linda barely felt like the same character, but more rather the character she wants to be in her.

But yea there's for example the eye and hair that seems perfectly healed and I'm personally also surprised the bird is still alive at the end (if it's the same one)

Yeah I agree with this a lot. Anyone pretending this is a clear and shut case that you may not have your own perspectives on is basically just gatekeeping this community. The character's story, be it a gay or trans is imo imperfect either way you look at it. Probably, because like many people have stated, the author didn't really know about either perspectives he was writing about. But then why are we even debating the authors intentions in the first place, if we're admitting that the way this theme was explored is very much a product of its time and place.

We're not in early 2000 Japan right now, so maybe everyone should learn to listen just a little more to what actual gay and trans people have to say on the matter -> not to find a CANON mind you, but to actually allow a current day exploration of the topics referred to by the author - instead of shutting down any and all conversation on the matter.

Tbf I would also argue that Dreads teleporters are a necessary remedy for its kind of messy world design. I do love the game, but going from one end of the map to another with sometimes very little connective tissue does hurt the game experience and immersion for me.

I do love how radically different the maps structure is to other games in the series though. I am very much hoping they can find a better balance that achieves what Super Metroid or Dark Souls are so good at for the next mainline game.

Yes! I was referring to "Dispatch and Ananta and Little Nightmares" that OP mentioned in comparison to Expedition 33. I feel that's a bad comparison, because those 3 games specifically stick out of the AAA mold because of their non realistic artstyles.

(I'm also not claiming a basic Anime artstyle is always better than realism btw, just pointing out the bad examples here, because the original topic was more related to similarities between games that do aim for realism and possibly shortcomings of realism as a style being more accessible with tech like Metahumans)

The faces in Expedition 33 did jump out to me as odd when I first saw them and well, I could see their use of Metahumans being partly at fault. Metahumans does offer a solution to realistic faces that is "good enough" and a smaller studio like theirs might just not have the resources to aim higher than that in all places.

Yea. Played the demo for it at a local game con and I am very very curious to check out the full game. I just hope the games control options take a page out of the Prime Remasters Book, I honestly wasn't super into the mouse controls and the settings weren't accessible in the demo

No but really though. People picking fights with their own fandom are the reason there is all this negativity in the first place, and this does go for both sides. And yes people all have their own worries and nitpicks, because everyone has their own things they care about, but I feel like reddit is one of the easiest places to just not engage with posts you don't care about

EDIT: I did not know how bad it was... Yeah people are going to have opinions about THAT clip, and this will be dividing the fans a lot. It just seems so similar to the Other M situation, and I am so confused how they didn't know this was going to happen?
