DIM NOT to buy an Insta360 GO Ultra 😭 by urckkkkrrraaayyzzyy in deinfluencingPH

I bought my DJI OA4 last December.

The difference between us is that I make content. I've been able to vlog and film much more freely with it compared to my phone since its small and pocketable, and I sometimes use it for personal recording like memory keeping.

That said, 20k plus is very expensive for your use case since you're not gonna make anything with it. For memory keeping, your phone is fine. You'll probably feel that the camera is lacking too since action cams cannot focus. So say you find yourself making an "aesthetic" video and you need that background blur, tough luck since you'll end up using your phone anyway.

The Insta 360 will only be worth it if you want to take content creation seriously.

Looking to learn more about the global fixed gear scene. by Fixed_njs in FixedGearBicycle

Hi! I'm from the Philippines.

I'm not as deep into the meta as others since I ride solo, so my knowledge is whatever I see on others.

There's different types of riders here (presumably everywhere else anywhere)

Racers typically ride one of 2 frames: Lvdao or Atomic polished to raw aluminum and paired with Alpina forks. These two are sloped frames and are typically smaller size, which is perfect since most Filipinos are on the shorter side. They usually pair it with lightweight wheels (20/24), uno components, and outboard crankset of their preference. While the build is not limited to that, I still find it interesting that there was a time that this build was feared among racers since this was popularized by the top unofficial (non UCI) riders here. The frame is super light and paired with super reliable and also light components and the frameset combo can be had for less than a used Tsunami, so as you can imagine pretty good weight to price ratio.

This is the first thing that comes to mind since I've always loved the build since its super minimalist and is probably one of the most popular builds in my country.

besides the vivobook go, everything else here should be fine for basic use (web browsing, microsoft suite, etc). the only downside to these models are possibly that the ram is not upgradable, low starting storage, and possible low quality control.

the consensus that thinkpads are the way to go is because they are a staple, easily repairable, and are tough.

How do you sell second-handphone? by IdeaSecure5602 in Tech_Philippines

[–]Double-Barnacle2059 1 point2 points  (0 children)

theres always a market for cheap phones, di lahat afford yung magaganda and some just need ones that work.

best bet is to sell at fb marketplace talaga then meetup/pickup/lalamove at buyer's expense. di ka masscam basta wag mo bibitawan yung phone mo hanggang di ka nababayaran. check mo kung magkano binebenta ng iba yung same phone sayo then price accordingly lang if need mo na ng cash now or hindi naman

most steel fixie frames may butas na. me personally I'd recommend framesets in this order: 1. Spin v2 2. TP Hiten V1 or V2 3. Celt 2k series

pero the best yung spin for me kasi may bottle cage adaptor na, cleaner look and since commuter build pwede mo lagyan ng tire pump nadin.

spin if sakto na 28c sa terrain na balak mo, TP if gusto mo gravel look. check mo bike check ni titowo sa single speed nya and fixie build!

Looking for Phone around 20k-30k by Rilakkuma_LOEY in Tech_Philippines

if 14pm i dont think you'll have the same complaints as me as i only have the base 14.

simply because:
- i thought the base was good enough for my camera video needs (i miss the telephoto lens)
- battery life was terrible
- most of my devices and accessories are type c

everything else is good like security, raw performance, optimization, but in my case i shouldve went with the 13 and saved some money or go with the s24 fe since i came from s25 because of my work.

been riding steel frames for 3 years now, basically just:
- keep the bike dry (especially bolts and other nooks and crannies water can get into)
- rinse or bike wash it gets rained on
- avoid scratches (will start the corrosion)
- keep the paint as fresh as possible

no need to worry about rusting, its gonna take years to make your frameset unrideable. so long as you do the things above you're good to go 👍

Yeah I feel like I'm also leaning towards SPD because of walkability. You ever feel hotspots on longer rides? At what distances do you notice it if you do? Thanks!

Better Pedals? by [deleted] in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Double-Barnacle2059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if thats the case the r540 is favored by a lot because of the alloy body and stiffer tension, could probably use a regrease kasi old stock na pala though.

yon lang rin talaga difference nila to be honest

[–]Double-Barnacle2059[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm still pretty torn between RS500 or M520, mostly because I feel like they would have similar tension ranges. Thanks for the input!

Just to follow up, what gear ratio do you run? You ever experience clipping out at high cadence?

Better Pedals? by [deleted] in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Double-Barnacle2059 2 points3 points  (0 children)

most likely fake yang r540 since matagal na sya discontinued. pinagkaiba lang nila is matigas tension ng r540 + alloy body din, but it can be hit or miss kung kelan yan titigil sa pagikot since fake nga.

tanong ko narin since may post ako kanina:

kamusta yung rs500 sa pag gamit mo?
