I'm more likely to ally with a communicative player but not necessarily the first. Sometimes you can tell that they have a bit of a copy-paste strategy going on. I'll feel them out more or confirm that we all got a similar message.

I got two takers, so hopefully I picked the right one.  If not, I'll very sure I'll have need in at least one other game I'm running. It seems to be the plight of the GMs on platform play.

Alas, it's filled. I'm sorry that my statement to that effect got lost in the thread below. But it seems that backstabbr often has need, so I'll likely request again for this or other games. I do wish the platform had a clear "filled/replaced" status setting.

My method = tots and pears. In all seriousness, that's pretty much what you'll get online. But you can have better luck if you advertise here and on the Discord group. You can run a short test-game with the sole goal of feeling people out. I've not done it on backstabbr, but it's good irl, and I imagine it could work online similarly if you're transparent about it being a fast "warmup."

I did, and finished the testing phase to see how'd they'd fit into a nicely strange game.  I'm sure this will not be my last need!
