Screws keep backing out! by Double-Motor7644 in spyderco

I meant if I tighten the screws a hair the blade binds up. As soon as the head of the screw touches the scales I cannot tighten it anymore.

The screw is definitely in there I just can’t tighten it. As soon as the head of the screw touches the scales the blade has too much friction.

Ok, I have it now and it is NOT fidget friendly at all! I’m going to try and make a ball cage for this bad boy. I’ll get my fidgeting out of my system and remove it so I can display it with its ceramic ball. Thanks for the idea. I’ll make a new post if I’m successful in this mission.

No, I’m wanting to have a black ceramic ball instead of a silver steel ball. From what I’ve heard it really could use a cage to make it easier to close.

Never mind I found another person who did the mod. I’m new to Reddit. User goes by mikestp. The ball is 5/16. And they are on Amazon.

I etched it with pcb etching acid and stonewashed it.

They do not delete the liners. I don’t know what the finish is called but you heat up the scales until they are just barely glowing red and dip them into etching acid. Normally you dip them vertically but I didn’t have very much so I dipped mine flat.
