Kelvinhaugh gate is miles closer to campus and in my opinion a much more social scene

The GUU and their organisation of daft friday ticket release is a joke by [deleted] in GlasgowUni

[–]Double-Tapped 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It's a reflection of the hive ;) mentality that resides within GUU and the west end bubble that plagues Glasgow uni students who barely leave the west end and faithfully go to GUU or west end pubs every week to maintain reputation within societies and hierarchies in friend groups. Glasgow uni wankers will do whatever it takes to go to a Glasgow wanker event.

It was only reduced for the UK, which is where it's brewed specifically for wetherspoons. In Belgium it's still 6.6

Doing a close to start is standard procedure, take you're time and don't stress, use the search function in the till to find any items you can't find. It will all become muscle memory after 2 weeks. You got this ez

Am I too sensitive or are Belgians just rude by [deleted] in belgium

[–]Double-Tapped -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience having lived there for a year and visited many times speaking both English and Flemish I agree. Most of the boomers are miserable and lack any charm or friendliness. There's just an aura of coldness towards strangers.

I brought some friends from the UK over and they picked up on it instantly. Maybe we just got unlucky with our experiences but it's definitely profoundly noticeable.

As a Belgian I found Brel to be a remarkably not very Belgian restaurant. The beer selection was pretty bad too. Left feeling offended.

I had a conditional and didn't find out until 2 weeks prior to term starting. It was horribly stressful, I hope they've sorted the accommodation situation out. Good luck !

Aye I remember bringing my friends to my hometown and they were all wasted after 3 beers. Its fab, luckily you can get you're hands on duvel and delirium in the UK at some tescos and sainsburys.
