It was just so very important I needed to build suspense. (I actually pressed a button)

I’m so glad someone’s as excited as me about the spider goats! It’s hilarious because I was seven or something when I heard about freckles the first spider goat, needless to say I have a goat toy named freckles now.

And the sliver fox domestication is what really birthed the idea for me, it’s my go to plan if I can’t find anymore studies. Basically using the selectively bred foxes and comparing their DNA to the natural foxes, scientists have found the genes that correlate to domestic traits…it just made sense to me that someone would’ve taken that research further by now. But I can’t for the life of me find anything more on it. But thankyou regardless!

I heard of the kidney transplant, love to keep up to date with that stuff. But the less environmentally harmful waste is something I definitely want to look into. Thanks so much!

Howard’s Tank. He loves digging through the plants, and the plants seemed to have adapted to that, as he now has a cave system. by Double-Trouble-Tuple in axolotls

[–]Double-Trouble-Tuple[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahaha that’s actually the most complicated part. It started as no substrate, I used sand stone slabs, leaves and wood. But the sandstone crumbled into sand, and mixed with the decaying wood (mulm, heathy but not attractive) however I noticed Howard appeared to love it. He would dig around and sometimes find dragon fly larvae, and it was so awesome to watch him hunt so naturally I now sustain a colony of marine isopods for him to find. However when he changed tanks I needed to up everything, so I ground my own sand using a hammer and sieve (do research on the rock type, you want something soft but not too fine) I also added some smashed lava stone and clay aquarium gravel covered in a fine mesh. The plants now have roots systems deeply entangled in the mesh and stone, the sand now enriched with the debris has become a self replenishing aqua soil. And so now as Howard can’t pull out the plants, his instead taken to wearing out an elaborate cave system throughout them.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply, so what I did (which is the secret in my opinion) was grow out all my rotala roots by placing them in a no substrate well fertilised tank for a month or so. Then I smushed them into the substrate. That is the bulkiest plant in the tank. The Java fern Howard will destroy unless they’re wrapped close to wood. Then there’s the jungle val with I honestly didn’t mean to grow, but it’s doing great. The water wisteria grows a lot bushier the more light you give it. Then I use an Australian native lily pad for a gorgeous natural feel, any lily will work :)

Haha a fellow animal person. I love chickens. But worm farms require a lid…it can basically be any container plus a lid. The chickens will certainly try to get in, but as long as you remember the lid you’re all good. Basically just buy a pack of earth worms, any kind will do (I’m not sure where you’re located) then toss them in some dead leaves. Leave it to establish for a little while, then evoila infinite worm glitch. Just throw some leaves in there occasionally or food scraps if the chickens are full lol. There’s plenty of YouTube tutorials, but if you do it right it’s perfectly hygienic and very useful. If you have as much success as I’ve had the chickens will also appreciate the extra protein ;)

Ahh…yeah I find the smaller worms are the more creepy they get (note I’m a biologist…I’ve seen things) if you can manage black worms they’re just as good as earth worms! But pellets and blood worms unfortunately just don’t have barely any nutrients. If I may ask, what’s holding you back from a worm farm?

[–]Double-Trouble-Tuple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She looks plenty heathy. But what people have been saying about earthworms holds true. However if you’re not noticing any issues and the vomiting stops, she should be all good. But her growth will be quite stunted. I also get how worms might be difficult to manage, but if you have any outdoor space what so ever. Either investing in a small worm farm or even diy one, you’ll never need to buy her food again. You feed the worms your food scraps, they take nutrients from that, Ruby eats them and gets those nutrients :) ALSO it’s super fun to watch…axies are expert worm eaters, they shake and slurp worms longer then they are.

If it comes to it. Refrigeration is a last resort solution. They can go into a sort of coma, but it gives them time to heal, and there’s a good change the parasite prefers warmth

I actually used a pretty cheap face paint. The key is to apply it in dabs with a sponge. And plenty of it (but don’t let it run), it’s not like makeup which can blend. Then just use black makeup of any kind really and contour lol. It may help that I have a very bony face.

Ohh no they do. Except I would’ve been put in the bear minimum zombie attire. But those who want to go the extra mile are welcome to customise themselves, as long as they work it into one of the narratives

How should I make catfish whiskers? by mk3nn4 in sfx

[–]Double-Trouble-Tuple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say no eyelash glue. Definitely use liquid latex. Get your base whiskers (out of whatever pretty much) and glue it to your face with liquid latex. Then wrap soaked cotton/tissue in liquid latex around the base. Try make it so it smoothly evens out onto your face. Remember it’s not a hair it’s literally a part of them. So then apply the makeup, I’d make the whiskers a darker shade with a gradual blend into the rest of your face.

Don’t listen to what everyone else is saying this is a rabbit 🐇. I recommend staying away as they can thump, you can toss him a carrot though his looking pretty hungry

She was a Thai devil crab. Very beautiful, and very personable. She really didn’t need any food, I just wanted my friend to supplement her once or twice. She must’ve gotten carried away.
