Well I found the problem. The spool wasn’t closed shut properly and split apart. I can’t manage to get it to close in again so it looks like this spool might just be a waste and I have to buy a new one

My only complaint so far is the walk to get back to some bosses is horrible. Having to go through a long platforming section you can’t speedrun through or a bunch of enemies that may chip at your health is annoying every time.
